"The customer service was great from the scheduling via phone to the guys who showed up. There was an issue that needed to be repaired prior to converting the gas fireplace to a wood one. They had the part shipped and repaired in the next two days. Absolutely no issues, great communication, and the product works great! Also, cheaper than the first 2 places I called."

"Once I had bought the deal on Angie's List, I received instructions via email to call Frontpoint directly to set it up. I called and spoke to Oscar, and the process was very smooth.  The email contained some order codes that let Oscar know exactly what I had purchased, and setup was quick from there.  He ran a credit check to confirm eligibility (it's a 3-yr contract), then had me set my intial PIN, Safety words, address, and credit card for billing.  That was it.
It took 2 days to assemble my hardware package, and 2 more days for it to arrive.  The sensors, control panel, and manuals came assembled in a really nice flip-top display box.  Everything was numbered in order, like "do this first," etc.  The sensors were all numbered for easy reference.  All batteries were included.   It was really slick.
Setup of the hardware took about a half-hour; I was easily able to do it myself.  The sensors are peel-and-stick; deciding which doors and windows to target took longer than the actual installation.  The fire/smoke alarm is peel-and-stick.  The motion sensor is sitting right on our fireplace mantel.  I hung the control panel using included screws.  Everything is wireless; once the system was turned on, all the sensors were automatically detected.  Did I mention how slick it is?
I called Frontpoint at 10pm, just as they were clothing, and the assiciate was nonetheless very polite.  Activation took minutes.  He walked me through different methods of arming and disarming, and could see my system was responding correctly.  He gave me a 2hr delay in police activation so I could get used to the system without accidentally tripping it.  He even gave me the rest of the month (~5 days) free, and said billing would start at the first of the next month!  I checked my bill, and it's legit.  Again, very slick.
Once it was up and running, I got an email to set up my online account.  The website, contracted through alarm.com, is really nice. You can custom-name your sensors, set up email/text alerts, create additional users/PINs ... really nice.  I downloaded the App for Android, and it's also very nice.  You can arm/disarm and see the recent sensor history.  This, combined with the wireless setup, is WAY MORE than any of my friends have through ADT, Broadview, etc.  My system is the belle of the ball, at lower cost ($99 equipment, no setup fee, $42/mo, killer web functionality, DIY expansion).
So far, the first month has been great.  We left town for a week right after installing it, and gave someone one of the keyfobs so they could check on the house, and their own User PIN for emergencies (which we can deactivate any time).  They had no problems, and the alerts let us know exactly when they came and went (the keyfobs are labeled in the alerts).   The piece of mind is PRICELESS.  I'm glad we set this up before an incident, instead of after.
I hear that additional Z-wave sensors are very easy to add, and available through third parties as well as Frontpoint.  Additional window sensors, water leak sensors, pipe freeze sensors, you name it.  Even home-automation sensors, which can be controlled via the web and phone apps!  I look forward to getting some and trying them out.
Great job (so far) Frontpoint!

Cooper Massey Services has been improving the air quality in homes and businesses for over 5+ years. We are fully licensed/insured, 5 star rated and have the most reasonable pricing in the area! REASONS TO GET YOUR DUCTS CLEANED: *Allergies- Air ducts provide an ideal breeding ground for bacteria, mold, fungi, and other allergens. Children under the age of four are particularly vulnerable and the result may be allergies or asthma. *Mold- Most duct systems are located in the basement where it tends to become wet, damp or flooded in the past causing mold or mildew to grow. *Pets- Animal fur gets trapped in the vents and builds up living germs, fungus, and allergy-causing bacteria. The fur and dander can hinder the efficiency of the HVAC system slowing the entire system down. These are only a few reasons to be caught up with the maintenance at least every 3-5 years of your air duct system. REASONS TO USE Cooper Massey Services: *We Use Bio-degradable Cleaning Solutions, Safe for Children and Pets *Advanced Cleaning Technology *Same Day Service If Requested *Incredible Rates *Top Notch Customer Service *100% Satisfaction Guaranteed! *Local Service With Quick Response You are in great hands when you call us so don't hesitate. Fireplaces questions, answered by experts

If your gas fireplace is vented through a chimney, a chimney cap is highly recommended. While not all gas fireplaces require a traditional chimney, for those that use one, a cap provides several key benefits. It prevents rain, debris, and animals from entering the chimney, which can cause blockages or damage. A cap also helps prevent downdrafts that could push harmful gases like carbon monoxide back into your home. When installing a cap, ensure it is appropriate for a gas fireplace and does not restrict proper ventilation.

No, because they burn propane or natural gas, gas fireplaces do not generate ash like wood-burning fireplaces. However, gas fireplaces require maintenance, such as cleaning the glass doors, checking for debris in the burner or vents, and ensuring the logs or glass stones are in place. This maintenance ensures that the fireplace continues to operate efficiently and safely.

Costs depend on material type, labor, chimney requirements, and structural reinforcements.

Regular cleaning prevents the buildup of creosote and soot, ensuring good airflow and reducing the risks of chimney fires that could compromise safety.

A chimney cap typically lasts between three and 25 years. This wide range is due to several variables, including the material it's made from, the local climate, and how frequently you use your fireplace. Living in an area with severe weather can shorten its lifespan. Regular inspections, maintenance, and minor repairs as needed can help your chimney cap last as long as possible.
