"Matt was very helpful and thorough with our home inspection. He went above and beyond to help us with time restrictions and provided a very detailed report. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Working with him was the only pleasant portion of this home buying experience. Small jobs welcome

"We had a Hot Water heater hose malfunction and fill our condo with 1 to 2 inches of water. It ran for two days before anyone reported it. Upon calling Jim & Jay they responded and were on site in less than 2 hours. Their team set up and began excellent and professional remediation service. They took care of our Condo like it was their’s. Jay went out of his way to explain everything they were doing and documented it all. They were thorough and exceptionally clean throughout the whole process. I highly recommend this Team to anyone."

"When my air assessor told me I had mold, I immediately freaked out. Not just because of the health concerns, but because I felt the time and money to remedy the situation would be excessive. To my surprise, the time and money were minimal because of a dry fogging system they used. It took about 3 hours for them to administer and an air test confirmed my home was safe following their work. Also, they are guaranteeing the work for a year! They were also about 3 thousand cheaper than the next lowest bid! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!"

"I tried 3 other roofers. All I got were answering machines to "leave a message". One called back but were backed up for a month before any repairs could be scheduled. Quality has a live person answer the phone who is both pleasant and professional. They came out the same day, inspected and fixed the problem. Nice, prompt and reasonable cost. The Best."

Home Inspection questions, answered by experts

Most lenders and homeowner’s insurance companies don’t mandate a structural engineer’s inspection, so in most cases, it’s not required. However, it’s a good idea to have one done anyway to ensure you know what you’re buying. You can use the report to carry out repairs after closing or even to negotiate the sale price before closing.

Radon enters your home when warm air begins to rise and exits through the roof, creating a vacuum that pulls cooler air from under the foundation. Part of that air is radon, which is an invisible, odorless gas that develops naturally when radioactive particles are deep within the ground. Those particles usually come from decaying matter in soil and rocks.

If the anode rod is no longer protecting your tank, you’ll spot telltale signs when you turn on a faucet. A bad anode rod can cause discoloration in your water, a rotten egg smell, intermittent hot water, and air in the water lines. Since these are symptoms of sediment damage to your water heater, don’t wait for them to occur before checking on the anode rod.

Yes, you can negotiate repairs after a home inspection. You can talk to the homeowner about either completing any repairs or deducting the cost of those repairs from the price of the home.

The small lines on the tape measure either indicate inches, fractions of an inch, or centimeters and millimeters. On the imperial unit side (aka the inches side), the longest lines indicate inches, followed by the next shortest lines that indicate a half-inch, and then the quarter, eighth, and sixteenth-inch. On the metric side, the lines break down meters, centimeters, and millimeters.
