The first contractor who was recommended to us said it was not possible because the flooring is the hand scraped type wood which is impossible to sand due to the uneven characteristics of the wood, and he suggested we replace it with laminate. The next day he came over to inspect the job and based on his analysis of a piece of the wood, he convinced us there was enough thickness in the surface of the wood to sand.
