Customers say: True professional

"Santhos repaired some drywall that was damaged due to a leak behind my wall that went unnoticed for months. He repaired the wall and painted it to match the same pattern I had on the wall before. I had some other guys come and look at it and they made the work seem really complicated and expensive. Santhos got it done in 2 days. I was beyond pleased."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Yes, even if you’re being careful, removing tile can damage your drywall to some degree. However, you can minimize the damage done to it by eliminating a majority of the grout and taking your time prying each tile off. Also, it's worth noting that you might have more drywall damages to deal with if your tile is set into the mortar.

Although they are used for similar tasks, spackle and joint compound are not the same. Joint compound, also known as drywall mud, consists of limestone and gypsum and is primarily used for large-scale projects like taping and finishing seams on new drywall. Spackle is composed of gypsum and binding agents, making it a thicker compound best suited for small wall repairs like filling nail holes or cracks, as it dries quickly and is easy to sand. For small repairs, either product can be suitable. However, you can use joint compound for small jobs in place of spackle, but you cannot use spackle for large-scale taping and mudding projects.

Whether you need drywall anchors depends on your specific project, particularly where you are hanging an item. Drywall anchors are not necessary if you can drive a screw directly into a wooden stud behind the wall, as the stud provides sufficient support. However, since studs are not present everywhere in a wall, you will need to use drywall anchors if you are hanging an object in a location without a stud. For very lightweight items, picture hanging strips can also be a suitable alternative.

Small patches can be DIY, but professionals handle large-scale repairs with seamless results.

Common causes include water leaks, settling, and impact. Address underlying issues to prevent recurring damage.
