"Absolutely amazing service from Mr. Water Heater! Our hot water stopped working unexpectedly, and they had a technician out the same day. The installation was fast, professional, and the pricing was exactly as quoted ? no surprises. The team was friendly, clean, and explained everything clearly. We finally found a company we can trust. Highly recommend Mr. Water Heater to anyone needing a water heater replacement!"

"The plumber was excellent. I felt he did quality work. He was very professional and courteous. The office was courteous but did not seem organized. I made my first payment on October 2. I signed and returned both the plumbing and electrical permits on October 4. The water heater went in on October 25. I did not have my inspections until November 21. The following is an email I received from the office explaining the delay: "There was a delay in submitting your permit as I arrived at the City at 4:13 on 10/5 and they do not accept submittals after 4pm. On 10/11 I went back again and they did not take in the application because Boca Electrical Works needed to update their insurance and county tax with the city. I was the only person in the office from 10/13-10-23 and could not leave to submit any permits until someone else was here to answer the office phones and that brings us to the following week which is when I submitted the application on 11/2." The water heater was in a closet and during this entire time all the items stored in the closet were stacked in my living room. The plumber did have to return because one of the parts he replaced on the toilet failed. It is working correctly now."

"My wife and I were planning a trip to go camping, and the water heater went out the night before we were scheduled to leave. So naturally I’m thinking, this is a whole two day process, maybe three, so I called Richard at PlumbRite, he came over the next morning, took care of the whole project, completely fixed the water heater, solved an issue that we were having with circuit breakers, and the next morning we went on our trip. Richard was quick on the work, but conscientious and thorough, totally professional, it was a pleasure to have him come over and take care of this because, we needed help with this water heater situation. Thanks again Richard"

"My water heater went out the day after Christmas. I called several plumbing companies and then went to Home Advisor. They recommended Peerless Plumbing. They gave me the best price, prompt service. Joe came out when he said he would & in 1 1/2 hrs had my new water heater installed. The price was $300 less than the other companies that I talked. There was no additional charges, the price they quoted me was the price I paid. I recommend Peerless very highly for you plumbing needs."

Water Heaters questions, answered by experts

Yes, most municipalities have codes that require water heaters to have pans. A pan is necessary when a water heater or hot water storage tank is installed in an area where water leakage could cause damage, such as an attic, second floor, or finished basement. Tankless water heaters are not required to have a pan since there is no storage tank.

We recommend you turn off the unit, the power, and the water supply as soon as you notice a leak. Your water heater tank should have a dedicated shut-off valve located on the cold inlet pipes. If the valve is broken or inoperable, use the shut-off valve to your home's main water supply to stop the flow to the entire house.

Avoid touching valves or pipes directly without confirming if they are hot. Wear gloves and other safety gear to keep from coming into contact with hot levers or components when turning off your leaking water heater.

Electric water heaters use a high amount of electricity, so they’re best for homeowners who subsidize their electric bill with solar or who live in an area with inexpensive electricity. For others, gas water heaters versus electric water heaters may be the more cost-effective solution, with the added bonus of heating water quickly and efficiently. No matter which you choose, you can lower your water temperature as low as possible to keep costs down.

If you're replacing a broken water heater, now is a great time to make sure you're selecting a unit that has the right capacity for your household. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, a small 50-gallon to 60-gallon tank is sufficient for households with one to three people. A medium-sized 80-gallon tank is considered ideal for three to four people. A larger tank may be needed if your household has four to six people.

Yes, this would be an appropriate choice. In order to comply with the National Electric Code’s rules, you'll need to install a circuit breaker that's 125% larger than the intended load. In this case, you'll multiply 30 amps by 1.25 to find the necessary breaker size. Plugging that equation in for your 30-amp water heater will leave you with a 37.6-amp breaker. If your current water heater keeps tripping the breaker, it might be time to talk to a plumber or electrician about upgrading your water heater's setup.
