Locally owned and family operated since 1996! Our mission is to provide the latest innovations in comfort, convenience and entertainment and integrate these systems into simple solutions for our customers enjoyment. Ron Cox began B.E.S.T. "Except for one design problem, we’ll and quickly. Had they discussed the front room windows ahead of time we would not have had a mismatch of panes."

Locally owned & operated since 1954, Famous Tate serves the Tampa Bay area with 9 convenient showrooms. We carry all major appliance brands, plus a large selection of scratch & dent. In addition, we carry mattress sets from the top brands.

"How did it go? Wonderfully. After visiting two competitors, where the sales people had very poor product knowledge, we got the A-Team at Famous Tate. After telling the sales person "Ben" what we wanted, and what we had learned at the other two big box stores, Ben took us to the back part of the store, where they had several dishwashers disassembled to use as sales tools. Being gentle with us, he showed us where we had been told incorrect things at other places. I told him he earned our business, and much to our surprise, he did a price match to another business that had the identical item $100.00 less expensive. The install was done the next day by installers that were great. There were two small complications with the install, and they worked probably an additional hour working around those issues. We would give them A++++++++"

Appliance Sales questions, answered by experts

Small appliances typically include microwaves, toasters, toaster ovens, food processors, blenders, mixers, slow cookers, air fryers, coffee makers, rice cookers, and any other appliance that can sit on your countertop. Major appliances include refrigerators, dishwashers, ovens, cooktops, washers, and dryers. Some people may include HVAC equipment like condensers and air handlers in this category, too. Small appliances are more of a specialty, so there’s a good chance a typical appliance repair company won’t be able to service and repair small appliances.

Yes. Gas dryers do plug into the wall. Gas dryers require both electrical power and a gas supply to operate. The heat is generated through the gas supply, while the plug powers the electrical components that facilitate the drying process and control the dryer's functions. The electrical connection is primarily used for the dryer's electrical components, such as the control panel, motor, and lighting.

Small appliance repair costs average around $50 to $400, with costs ranging significantly based on the type of appliance, the extent of the damage, the issue, the appliance brand, and the availability of replacement parts. Generally speaking, you’ll pay less for repairs on very small appliances, like blenders and toasters, than you will for microwave repairs. We recommend consulting a small appliance repair technician for a quote before starting the project.

Typically, refrigerators should not be plugged into GFCI outlets. This is another appliance with a motor that can be prone to a little current leakage. Using a standard outlet saves nuisance tripping and the potential of waking up to a refrigerator full of warm food. The only exception is when the refrigerator is in a garage, where all outlets must be GFCI.

Yes, many providers recycle eligible appliances. Confirm with your contractor.
