"It went absolutely awesome. The gentleman in charge was not only prompt but efficient. He did the entire remodeling of our office in four days. Including ceilings, walls, light fixtures, doors and he is affordable. Give this guy a call and keep him busy. Loves to work and stays in constant communications with you. Thank you!"

"Chris did an outstanding job of relocating a closet door and putting shiplap on the same wall the closet door was moved from. CBA Contracting was very professional and the workmanship is second to none. Will definitely hire them again for more jobs. Chris communicated with us through the entire job to keep us updated and informed. CBA Contracting was very neat and clean throughout the job. Will recommend CBA Contracting & Renovations to anyone that is looking for a quality company to do renovation work."

"Chuck came into a mess after my contractor walked off the job. He was able to fix/repair many of the problems I was left with in a kitchen remodel along with painting and drywall repairs. He and his small crew did a great job getting the project back on track and in a timely manner. He communicated throughout the entire process. He was fair with his price and there were no surprises. I would recommend Chuck and will use him again."

"Blake was punctual and professional as he evaluated the crack in my concrete driveway. He was pleasant and explained why this was not the ideal match between Alpha and the repair I needed. Given the quality of Customer Service, I was disappointed to not be able to hire Alpha."

Wall Repair questions, answered by experts

If you don’t backfill a retaining wall—either at all or adequately enough—the wall won’t drain well, and water will be able to pass through it. Poor drainage will lead to a warped wall or a buildup of hydrostatic pressure, which can eventually collapse your retaining wall. If you have particularly sloped land, consult a structural engineer to ensure your hardscaping is adding value to your home.

Most railroad tie retaining walls have a life span of 20 to 30 years, though you may need to replace your wall sooner if it’s repeatedly exposed to heavy rain, runoff, and excess moisture. Railroad ties are typically treated with creosote, which makes them much more durable than untreated wood. Though they last longer, they don’t last forever. For the most longevity, make sure your retaining wall has a sturdy base and steel reinforcements. You should also install drainage to direct water away from the wall.

Yes, including patterns, finishes, and plant integration for aesthetic enhancement.

Each design is different, so we can’t say definitively if you’ll need a dedicated drainage system in place for a two-foot retaining wall. However, you can likely skip the drainage, as this project is typically served for walls that are 4 feet tall or more. Even with a relatively low wall, consider drainage if you are building on top of clay or poor-draining soil types or if there are buried water sources nearby, like a well used for other outdoor garden projects.

There are contractors specifically trained in the design and construction of retaining walls. Retaining wall contractors are skilled at dealing with the soil on your property and assessing what kind of drainage should be installed. They will recommend the best materials to use for the project and can handle the processing of permits by local authorities.
