"They knew what they were doing for sure , had many cracks and broken concrete that had dropped and had a big area that was a void, by the time they were done the pieces were together and they filled in all the cracks and sealed them. The only thing now is it looks like puzzle pieces. So now I need to resurface or texture .it was awesome to see"

"It was great! Even the pipes under my house were clogged and they cleaned them. I was amazed at the debris that was in those pipes but I watched the entire procedure myself. Some of the gunk had been there since the previous owners. Now I no longer have to watch when a toilet is flushed because all of my pipes have been unclogged and are running much faster. I would absolutely recommend "A New Beginning Environmental". Ask for Nelson because he really knows the details of his profession."

"Our experience with this company has been great! We have used their services in the past and was very, very pleased with the work they did for us. Because we were so satisfied with their services, we reached out to them once again to take care of our exterior waterproofing and termite problem. As always, their professionalism is above par. "I noticed that the plumbing in one of my bathrooms was backing up and called Glenn Tatum. They came the next day checked my plumbing, tried to unblock the piping and determined that my septic tank was not working. They charged $80.00 for that service call including Angie's List discount, which I found quite reasonable. They called in their septic service division which came to my home the same afternoon and found that my sum pump was  finished. They installed a new pump, new wiring, replaced the alarm float, and pumped the tank all in about one hour. By the end of the day both my plumbing and septic were working just fine. These guys were not cheap, but they were very efficient and I highly recommend them.

"Excellent Service! Virgil took time to explain everything, made sure the tank was completely empty and clean before he was done. He made sure we flushed the toilets and that everything was flowing as needed before he sealed up the tank with concrete. Couldn't have asked for a more thorough and professional job! Will definitely use again and recommend to anyone I know that needs this type of service! Thank you very much! A+"

"Amazing from start to finish! We had a large hole in the exterior wall from an old AC unit. Estimates and scheduling were super easy. The two man crew that did the work were friendly, knowledgeable and kept me updated through the process. The brick lines they did were top notch. It’s completely seamless with the existing brick work. They cleaned up well and even closed up the back gates when they left. I would hire them again for any work in the future."

Basement Waterproofing questions, answered by experts

Whether to waterproof your basement from the interior or exterior depends on several factors, including your budget.

Exterior waterproofing is generally considered the superior method because it stops water at the source, preventing it from seeping into and damaging your basement walls. This approach offers the most protection, making it ideal if you use your basement for storage.

By contrast, interior waterproofing is often less expensive and requires less labor because the area is more accessible.

For maximum protection against water leakage and moisture, applying waterproofing measures to both the inside and outside is the best solution. However, if you must choose only one, stopping water from the outside is the most effective approach to preserve your foundation and prevent damage.

Flooded basement cleanup can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks, depending on the extent of water damage, the type of water involved, and the need for repairs or mold remediation. Severe cases with structural damage or extensive mold may require longer timelines. Quick action and professional help can speed up the process and reduce overall damage.

Yes, outside leaks can easily cause damage to your home if you don’t have waterproofing measures in place. Regularly check your property for signs of a leak, ensure your home’s landscaping is at least at a 5% slope, your basement windows are sealed, and you have an aligned gutter system to catch rainwater.

Yes, if your crawl space is prone to humidity, a dehumidifier can help keep it dry. For use in a crawl space, you’ll need a high-capacity and high-efficiency dehumidifier with built-in air filtration. It’s also wise to purchase one with a self-draining feature. Otherwise, you’ll need to climb into the crawl space to empty the dehumidifier.

You can DIY basement waterproofing in some ways to help save on the overall costs. If your basement isn’t experiencing a lot of water but is noticeably humid, you can try running a dehumidifier that will pull the excess water out of the air. If you notice water leaking due to outdoor drainage issues, you can add downspout extensions to keep rainwater away from your home.

However, if the problem is more severe and requires a more extensive solution, it’s best to call a basement waterproofing professional to assess the treatment you need and install waterproofing safeguards properly. Since keeping water out of your basement is important, ensuring this job is done correctly the first time is best.
