"I supplied the new shower faucet, handle and shower head. The bathroom was upstairs and had copper lines going to the old faucet. I wanted a transition from copper to the pvc and install new parts. The guy cut out about three feet of copper line and replaced it with pvc instead of just putting a small transition piece from the copper to the new pvc. There is a gap in between the handle and the piece that sits on the wall where the water is turned on. I had another plumber tell me that this will leak in a year or two and that they do that to assure a future job. He took the copper with him which sells for a big price. He did a good job on the toilet parts install. Then after all of that, he charged me almost $600.00. When I said something he said well, you know there is almost $300.00 in parts?????? The only parts they supplied was pvc, 8 connections and toilet parts. RIP OFF on the parts. I have used them in the past and they did great work and for a reasonable price but I will never use them again."

Customers say: Super punctual

"The project estimator was very responsive and punctual within 24 hours of my request. The technicians were courteous and professional, and did a good job with the installation. Some of the grouting applied around the base of the toilets was incomplete and messy, so I called the office the following day (Saturday), and they quickly scheduled another technician to come out the following Monday to correct the issue. That technician was eager to remove and replace the prior grouting with correct color grout and did a great job. Overall, this company is dedicated to keeping their customers satisfied."

"It was a Sunday and we had a stopped up toilet. I tried several options on my own that didn’t work. We have 3 bathrooms so it wasn’t an emergency and could wait until Monday. When I went on Angi to request a quote, Rooter Express of Jax was the first one to call me within 3 minutes. I was taking a shower and didn’t hear the phone. He called 3 times leaving a voicemail saying he was close on another call and could be here in 10 minutes. My wife answered the door and it was Julian the owner of the company. He observed from outside drain line that the other two toilets flushed properly out first. He then came in and turned on the hot water in the sink and shower. He said that the line wasn’t clogged because if the sink and shower wouldn’t drain then the line is clogged. So it wasn’t inside the toilet and would snake it from the toilet first and it should work with the 6 feet if clogged. Sure enough it worked and flushed out and he let it fill several times and flushed."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can pour water down the toilet to help it flush. For each flush, you’ll need 1 to 2 gallons of water for newer toilets or 3 to 5 gallons of water for older toilets. Rather than dumping the entire bucket in all at once, pour the water in slowly for the best results. If you’re pouring water down the toilet to help it flush after a clog, only use 1 gallon of hot water.

A toilet flange secures your toilet in place to the floor, and connects your toilet to the drain pipe that carries its contents to the sewer. Obvious signs that your flange needs replacement include when it can’t keep up with these two functions. If your toilet rocks back and forth or you see leaks coming from the bottom of your toilet, it’s time for a replacement. Other signs that your toilet flange is broken or faulty may include loose tiles or soft flooring around the toilet, and sewage smells.

You should replace your toilet at least every 25 years. While toilets are pretty sturdy appliances, they don’t last forever. Even if you aren’t ready to invest in the cost of a bathroom remodel yet, just replacing your toilet will help freshen up your space and keep your bathroom functioning.

The biggest sign that your flange leaks is if you notice water at the base of the toilet. The cause is likely due to a poor flange installation, so you might have issues with loose bolts, an uneven flange, or a cracked plastic flange. Add a deteriorating wax seal to this, and you have a recipe for disaster. The best solution is to shut off the water valve, replace the toilet flange, and seal it with a new wax ring.

Replacing a toilet typically takes two to four hours. Several factors can impact this timeline, including the condition of the old toilet, flange, flooring, and pipes. If a professional discovers issues like a cracked flange, damaged flooring, leaky pipes, or a broken wax ring, the installation will take longer. Additionally, some toilets, such as wall-mounted or in-wall-tank models, are more complex to install and may require cutting into and repairing drywall, which adds to the project time. Given the weight of toilets and the importance of proper placement, it is often best to hire a professional for the job.
