"The experience working with Robert was top notch from start to finish! The communication was always responsive, friendly, and professional. He was very efficient with this project to install five total ceiling fans and he took the time to ensure everything was installed and working correctly with each and every fan and lighting function. I would highly recommend Robert and his team at Orion Electrical for any projects!!"

Small jobs welcome

"They return calls promptly and schedule very soon. They were always there when they indicated and continued to follow up on everything on our long list of renovation lighting and electrical needs. They were diligent in finding a problem with our wiring that was causing trouble with a ceiling fan. We are very satisfied with our experience and will use them again when we need help."

"I was getting ready for work a few days ago and noticed my bathroom light pulsating. Then I heard something crackling. I took the cover off of the outlet it was coming from and found the wiring sparking. I ran to the circuit panel and turned the breaker off, then logged on to Home Advisor to find an electrician. I marked it an emergency, and Chris Cook called me literally within 2 minutes. He had his crew out to my house in less than 2 hours. Four years ago I paid a well known company almost $2,000 to install alumicons on all connections, since I have aluminum wiring. Boy what a surprise I got when Chris' crew (Joe and Mike) pulled the outlet out of the wall and THERE WERE NO ALUMICONS. This could have burned my house down! The guys fixed the other companies' terrible work in no time. I will definitely use them in the future and happily recommend them to anyone."

"Mark was fantastic to work with. He was willing to work me into his work day on the day I spoke to him. He called ahead to let me know he was on his way as requested because I have dogs. He got to work as soon as he arrived and had 3 ceiling fans installed in about an hour (maybe less). He was very friendly & professional and I will be recommending him to neighbors."

Bathroom Fan Installation questions, answered by experts

The lifespan of an attic fan depends on the type. Passive fans can last 40 to 50 years, while electric and solar models typically last 10 to 15 years. You can extend the life of your fan with regular maintenance, such as cleaning the fan blades and shutters and checking for moisture. For professional service, you can consult a local attic fan installer or have an HVAC technician clean, oil, and inspect the unit for potential issues.

Yes, you can run an attic fan with the AC on. In fact, you don’t have a choice with a passive attic fan. Plus, when an attic fan draws out hot air from the attic, it helps regulate the temperature of your whole home, so your AC doesn't have to work as hard.

Never add oil unless the fan is specifically designed for it. Most modern ceiling fans are designed with sealed bearings that don’t require oiling. However, some older fans may have oil ports for lubrication. If your fan is older and you hear squeaking or grinding, check the manual or the manufacturer’s website to see if oiling is recommended.

There are many types of ceiling fans, from self-automated smart ceiling fans to outdoor ceiling fans that provide additional comfort to your patio. What you choose all comes down to function and personal taste.

Consider your ceiling height when selecting a ceiling fan. Rooms with ceilings under eight feet high will do well with low-profile ceiling fans, also known as flush-mount or hugger ceiling fans. If your home has cathedral ceilings or ceilings between 10 and 25 feet high, you’ll need a large ceiling fan with a heavy-duty motor to get adequate air circulation.

On average, a bathroom fan lasts between five and ten years. The fan's lifespan depends on its quality, installation, and frequency of use. You can extend its life with regular cleaning and by promptly addressing any issues. Common signs that you need a new fan include mold growth, a burning smell, unusually loud noises during operation, or lingering odors in the bathroom. If your fan is no longer working as well as it once did, consider replacing it. The cost to install a new bathroom fan is typically between $240 and $550.
