Customers say: True professional

"Archcube is absolutely amazing. The owner/principal Luis is a highly skilled and competent architect and home remodeler. Luis handled our extensive home remodeling project from the design and drawing phase all the way to completion. He impressed us over and over again with his responsiveness, attention to detail, and integrity. He truly cares and delivers. His fees are fair and reasonable. I would never consider using anyone else for a construction project."

"Fantastic experience. My job was small by professional standards, but important to me. Whitnie was a pleasure to deal with, she understood my needs quickly, was able to schedule me fast, showed up when she said she would, stayed in touch, and finished the project beautifully! "Alex is a very smart architect. Helped with rebuild of burned down house. When the city had questions for the permits, he had answers. When the city insisted on special inspections & sign offs, he showed up. Saved me thousands in foundation work. Was also very compassionate, as I lost my father not long after the fire (My dad lived in the house that burned down) He was very understanding & easy to work with. Professional, efficient, highly recommend."

Architects questions, answered by experts

Greek Revival architecture was popularized in America in the early- to mid-1800s, around the time when archaeologists were discovering buried ancient Greek buildings. As a means of celebrating the democratic government in ancient Greece, American architects borrowed from those newly discovered buildings as a way to emphasize that America would remain a democratic country in the wake of the American Revolution.

Villa exterior features often include large windows, arched doorways, patios, terraces, greenery, and gardens. Common exterior colors for villas are whites and off-whites, soft browns, and clay tones.

Yes, professionals will offer tailored solutions to fit architectural and personal style preferences.

Federal and Colonial architecture are similar in that they both appear mostly utilitarian and symmetrical, but Federal architecture is a bit more ornate. Federal design often includes decorative palladium windows, window lintels, and, sometimes, columns surrounding a more decorative portico. Inside, Federal architecture is set apart by its centrally-located oval room. Additionally, Federal homes tend to have brick facades, whereas Colonial homes more often have wood siding.

You have three options in terms of professionals who can draw up blueprints: a draftsperson, an architect, or a structural engineer. A draftsperson can sometimes draw up plans for new construction, but they more often work from approved plans for alterations or to provide 3D drawings. Architects are usually the best option for standard residential construction projects. Structural engineers might be necessary for custom home builds or for alterations that could affect your home’s structural integrity. Draftsmen cost the least of the three, followed by architects and then structural engineers.
