"The team at Elekron is fantastic! From start to finish, the process was smooth, efficient, and well communicated. Contacted them for a quote for installing a Tesla electric car charger in our condo/townhouse. Rodrigo arrived on time, answered all my questions and discussed options. Quote was received by email later that evening. Contacted Lucia in the office to move forward and she got things started right away. Worked through the North Miami permitting process (delayed to the holidays, but that was expected) then scheduled our install within in a few days of the permit being approved. James and his assistant, Jorge, showed up on time and began the work. They were super clean, very professional, polite, and worked quickly. Job was done exactly as expected. Can not even begin to express how impressed I was with these two gentlemen. They even vacuumed up the area where a small patch of drywall had to be cut to access the electrical panel. City inspector signed off on the job. We are very pleased with this company and all the team members we connected with throughout the process. Highly recommend them."

"Kudos for a job well done! Mitch supplied all the parts, supplies, and labor to complete the job described above. The job was completed in under 2.5 hours. Steve and his helper were friendly and cleaned up well when they finished. I am VERY happy with the new LED flat panel on the ceiling - it turns on instantly - no more waiting for the herky-jerky slow starting fluorescents to turn on! The LED flat panel is bright. I may decide to have a dimmer installed - I'll wait and see. The price I paid was reasonable and I'll use them again for electrical needs! I would recommend Mitch Joseph to anyone that needs help with lighting or electrical projects!"

"Ragual and Jose arrived on time, looked over the job and gave me a price. They also noted that i had already purchased the Electrical panel to replace the old one, and the breakers to go with it. But they determined that I had bought some breakers that were wrong and need to be exchanged for the correct ones. They took the wrong breakers back to Home Depot, got me a credit and bought the correct ones. It took then 8 hours to pull the old panel out and the subpanel, and replace and rewire them both into the single master panel. They were efficient, careful, and very knowledgeable. They did a great job. So good, that I have hired them to do some work in my warehouse. There, they will move and install several 220V outlets. I highly recommend RDR All In One Electric for your next electrical need."

"Fernando from Electrical Solutions was very polite and thorough. He explained everything that needed to be done and what the costs on the estimate entailed. Considering he had to drill through a concrete ceiling (among other difficult tasks), the amount he charged was definitely reasonable for the amount of work, and still much lower than another estimate I had gotten from someone else. I will definitely use this company again for other projects and I highly recommend them to others."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can run an above-ground electrical conduit and stay within National Electrical Code safety guidelines. Just make sure you check the code requirements of your project with the local building regulations office. You should work with a local electrician to complete this type of project due to the personal safety hazards.

With AC wiring, which is the kind most likely you’ll find at home, the black wire is “hot,” and the white is “neutral.” The bare or green wire is considered the safety ground wire. If you encounter DC wiring, it’s relatively easy to tell positive or negative wires apart. red wires are used to indicate positive voltage and black wires indicate negative voltage.

Just as fluorescent lights are more efficient than incandescent lights, LED lights are more efficient to run than fluorescent lights. The specifics will vary from product to product, but LED lights are typically twice as efficient as equivalent fluorescent lights. A 13-watt CFL bulb can replace a 60-watt incandescent bulb, but a 6- to 8-watt LED bulb can offer the same amount of brightness. Fluorescent lights offer about 50 lumens per watt, while LEDs offer about 100 lumens per watt. LED light bulbs typically last two to three times as long as CFL bulbs, too.

Wiring can last anywhere from 50 to 70 years, but all kinds of mishaps can occur that reduce the lifespan of your electrical wiring, including severe weather conditions, pests, and even faulty wiring. Keeping a preventative maintenance scheduling and hiring an electrician for an annual electrical inspection will keep your wiring system around for as long as possible.

If you plan to have a refrigerator or other appliances that require electricity, you will need an electrical outlet in your outdoor kitchen. Be sure to comply with all National Electrical Code® (NEC®) codes for electrical wiring and outlets in kitchens. If you do not plan to install a refrigerator or any other appliances that require electricity as part of your outdoor kitchen features, then you do not need to install electrical outlets. However, it is a good idea to install at least one electrical outlet should you decide to use any appliances that require electricity.
