Our company was founded in 2007, starting small but gradually becoming the lawn and landscape provider we are today. We have a clear-cut mission that we strive to achieve every day: to provide the individual, personalized care and attention of a small company but have the resources and capabilities of a large one. We take pride in our unparalleled attention to detail, professionalism, excellent customer service, and reliability, working hard to exceed expectations with everything we do. Achieving our mission starts with our employees, who undergo thorough, ongoing training to ensure they know how to perform our services right the first time. You can also trust that we'll always show up when scheduled and in uniform, ready to prove why you can trust us for all your lawn and landscaping needs. Not only that, but we even have a full-time office staff that will answer your call!

""Starting Jan 1st 2025 we are no longer allowing skips with no charge. Meaning if you want to stay in your slot on our schedule then each scheduled service must be paid for, you can skip an actual physical service if you want but you will still receive a charge." Because of the nature of lawncare in Florida, this means I'd be paying for approximately 4-6 biweekly services I just wouldn't need. After 5 years, I can no longer recommend them."

State certified Licensed General Contractor & Certified Arborist One Source for Your Project & Property We combine expert Tree Management with full Construction Management services. From land development and cost planning to complete project oversight. Decades of experience, on time, on budget, and built to last. Call today to protect your property and bring your project to life!

"We hired RSC in late 2024 for a full home renovation. At first, the process was reasonable but it became clear the cost + budget were overrun. When the problem was identified, Richard became defensive, combative, and unreasonable. He was verbally abusive and threatening over WhatsApp and telephone. I had to order a stop work. The new Project Manager was great. The office manager Tina was wonderful. However, they both were the 2nd individuals in those roles - way too much turnover on the team to feel confident with progress. Richard himself is a nightmare to work with - we asked for a warranty repair in October 2025 after the work was completed and ended up in an email argument with Richard where he threatened us (again) with legal action. The process of working with Richard is chaotic, stressful, and he is not trustworthy. I do not recommend. "

A Sun State Trees, Inc. is a family owned and Operated tree service in Florida since 1992. The father with the help of his sons and daughters help him run a company that started out as a small lawn maintenance business. When Hurricane Andrew struck Florida in 1992, the owner, his son, and a few friends removed trees that had fallen and damaged home after home for 6 months. A Sun State Trees was one of the first companies in Florida to successfully use boom truck cranes to safely and quickly remove enormous old trees. The company grew in a positive direction and the demand for professional tree service annually grew as did our experience. Our successes and mistakes has helped craft the procedures, training and safety limits of our industries modern Arboriculture services:

"r Review Over all it was a complete disaster. The provider was scheduled to began the job on October 3, 2025 at 9:00am. The workers went to wrong address to begin with once they realized they were at the wrong address they made their way two houses down to my home. We spoke briefly verifying my address after which we lead them to the backyard showing them the tree to be cut down. We then went inside. Shortly after hearing the chain saw we hear a loud thump that we later observed was a very large parts of the top of the tree laying on the ground. Soon after a second thump that sounded as if the tree had falling through the earth and the workers simultaneously laughing because they dodged the tree and it looked like it had fallen too close to my window for my comfort. We returned to watching TV. and a few minutes later what sounded like a tree had fallen through the roof in my laundry room. I immediately jumped up to investigate but there was no visible damage that I could see from inside the house. The roof was in tact from the inside. We then went to the side of the house to take a look but didn’t go too far or stay out there too long because we just didn’t feel safe. However my fiance’ did manage to take a couple of pictures that I was aware that he took. After returning inside I set up my iPad and began recording. They were making me very uneasy. But after recording for a few minutes and nothing else seemed to be happening I shut it off. Low in behold about 30 or 40 minutes after I stopped recording. We heard a very loud boom and the power went out. We immediately ran outside to see what was going on. We observed the meter on the side of my home was detached. I was in total shock at what I was seeing. I couldn’t find the words. My fiancé asked them what they were doing and told them they had knocked the power out and showed them the damaged meter. and told them the electric was out and they needed to fix it. One of the workers who appeared to be the leader or boss pulled a cell phone out his pocket and began speaking in Spanish to someone after the conversation ended he spoke to us in English and stated his boss was on the way. We went inside of the house waiting for the boss to come. The workers continued to work, some of them were cutting the parts of the tree that was on the ground into smaller pieces others were roping and clearing the tree off my home and the neighbors property where they allowed some of the tree to land cutting it into smaller logs and hauling it away to the curb and putting the smaller tree limbs in the tree chipper. We had no idea that the were working so aggressively because the were packing up to leave as fast as they could. My fiancé asked me why it was taking so long for “the boss” to show up and advised my to call Troy. I did so and he was completely unaware that they had damaged my home. Troy advised me that me telling him was the first he had heard of it. It was approximately noon when I spoke to him. I told him that the job was not done and they were loading up and appear to be leaving. Troy then advised me that he would get into with the boss and get back with me. He called me back and said that his boss was making no sense but he would figure it out and get back to me. However I never heard from the boss. Someone called me from the office and said she stated that had spoken to someone at OUC and they were going to come to my home to see they could put up an emergency line and they would be contacting me. I asked her if they can not what is am I to do I was the weekend. She said that the boss said for me to get a hotel and he would reimburse me. I returned home to wait on OUC and when we arrived OUC had already been to my home and left however they left a card on the door stating they had turn the power completely off for safety reasons and had removed the meter completely from my home for safety reasons. Unbeknownst to me when the tree fell and knocked the meter off it sparked a fire. Therefore I had no other choice but to vacate my home. An electrician was sent to my home on Monday 6th. to replace my meter. However he went downtown to get the permit and wasn’t allowed. I had to do that part. He advised me that the boss ask me to pay for the permit and he would reimburse me. I told him I was not going to pay out my pocket for anything else. So he advised me to call him and he would pay the cashier over the phone and this is how I was able to receive a permit. He completed his work and handed me the bill which was $1082.00 I asked him why was he giving me the bill and he stated that the boss said that I would pay it and he would reimburse me. I told him absolutely not. I was not paying him I have not spoken to the “boss” that he told him a lie. I called Troy and Troy said he didn’t understand why he would say that, but why he and I was still on the phone the boss called the electrician and paid him for the work. I found that to be very odd of him. But it also let me know he was trying to get over on me and he had no intentions of reimbursing me for my lodging. So the boss finally called me and asked what happened I told him and I also mentioned to him that they didn’t finish the job. He said that a roofer was also coming to repair the damage to my home as well and that he would also finish the the tree job. When the roofer arrived on Tuesday 7th. He said he would have to come back to complete the tree job because no one explained that he would need equipment he didn’t know the tree was as big as it is and that it was growing through my fence. I explained to him when Troy came out to give a an estimate he said that since I was replacing the fence that it wouldn’t be a problem. The boss calls me after the roofer left and said he was not going to bring his 1000.00 equipment to do the job because it would ruin the equipment. I advised him that I have an invoice that says otherwise. I called him to speak to him about my lodging and the food that was lost due to me not having power for over four days and his cell went straight to voicemail. I couldn’t leave a message because the voicemail was full. So I texted him and he said for me to take it off the bill I owe home I advised him I owe him absolutely nothing and reminded him that job was not complete. He began texting me and I advised him under no circumstances that I would be going backwards and forward with him . I told him under no circumstances but one that he should text me again unless he is telling me when, where, and how I can get the money he told me he would reimburse me. However he continued and used profanity and I was done. I didn’t respond to his unprofessionalism. I have not had any communication with him since."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Yes, tree roots can regenerate after they’re pruned or cut. In fact, trimming can stimulate new growth, especially in healthy trees. The tree’s roots can still grow back even after a tree is cut down, (and learning how to get rid of regrowing tree roots is a separate feat). Still, if you don’t wish to harm a tree, pruning the roots should be done with extreme care, and ideally by a professional.

Burning a tree stump can be effective, but it comes with safety considerations and isn’t always best for every situation. It's essential to check local regulations and assess the safety risks involved. Stumps that are near wooden structures or other non-moveable flammable objects aren’t good candidates for burning due to the risk of the fire spreading. Alternatives like grinding or a DIY stump rotting project might be safer and quicker for getting the job done.

Yes, in most municipalities, arborists or tree surgeons need to hold an arborist’s license, which usually requires specialized education and specific experience. Certified arborists must also pass an exam from the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). In addition to a license, you should always confirm that the tree surgeon you’re hiring is fully insured, as this can help you avoid legal problems if the professional gets injured on your property. Keep in mind that some municipalities require tree removal and other services to be completed by a licensed arborist.

For the most part, homeowners don’t need permission to cut down a tree on their own private property. But there are some exceptions. If the tree is very large, very old, or protected for any reason (it’s a heritage species, for example), then you may need a permit in order to cut it down. Trees that are close to public property or power lines may also be subject to special rules. You can face hefty fines if you don’t follow local tree protection ordinances, so it’s worth checking with the appropriate government agency before you fire up your chainsaw.

A grafted tree is a tree grown by combining two trees. It takes expertise. Branches from grafted trees don’t grow strong roots. Save yourself the time and frustration by having an arborist help you with this advanced project.

You can often tell if a tree is grafted because it will have a noticeable line. Above the line, the bark will look different than it does below the line. It’s most common with fruit trees.
