"Andrew did a fantastic job in my yard. I strongly recommend. More over , the price is also unbeatable. I don't think any other professionals would have done in same cost for shaping hedges, trimming tress including collecting debris as he did."

"Roger and his crew did an outstanding job trimming several trees and removing a large laurel oak tree that was aged out and too close to the house - risky during storms. They were so good at maneuvering equipment and bringing down large limbs without damage to fencing, the pool cage or other nearby trees. On time, removed debris and cleaned/raked area. They have been my go-to tree service for years and never disappoint. Fair estimate/excellent work!"

Small jobs welcome

"These two professionals arrived on time and took great pride in their work and in what I had asked them to do. The job was to trim 27 year old oak trees. Each cut made was thought out making my trees more beautiful. They listened to me and honored my request. They did an exemplary job while picking up every branch and leaf before leaving. I would recommend them to my friends and neighbors. This investment in my trees was beyond satisfying!"

"I have supervised many tree projects as a park professional. Ironwood Tree Service exceeded my expectations. I was extremely impressed with their skills and level of safety as per OSHA standards. I quoted several companies and they were the best value for the project. We already have them booked for another tree project. Raul Cruz the company's sawyer is by far the best in business in a bucket truck or as a tree climber."

"HIGHLY recommend Alex and his team. After receiving 6 quotes to remove a large 50ft oak from a hard to access spot between my pool and a fence, Alex came in with a good price but it was after meeting him that I knew he was the one for the job. I felt comfortable having him in charge of the job while I wasn’t home. Him and his crew did a great job and cleaned up everything including some extra TLC like skimming branches out of my pool after. I am very happy with the work and will definitely use Gold Palm again in the future for any tree needs."

"When I reached out to Angis List on Tuesday , Mr Lopez was in my driveway B4 my phone stopped ringing from the other providers. We surveyed the job together , discussing what I wanted and what he would do. We agreed on a price in less than 10 minutes and set the appointment for Thursday of the same week. Mr Lopez reached out via text to re confirm and was here with his crew by 8a.m. Got right to work and left the area clean & tidy of debris. You cant even tell that any work was done except that the trees are gone!! :) De Leon Landscaping does it all....mulch/rock/sod...plants...yard cleanup and maintenance...tree and shrub trimming. Mr Lopez is the only yard man that you will ever need. Top notch service and work. Thank you again Mr Lopez and AngisList"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

The best time to trim trees is in late fall through winter when the tree has slowed its growing for the year. Cold weather stops insects and fungal growth from attacking a new tree wound. Summer and fall are considered the worst times to trim trees, but it’s permissible in certain scenarios, such as tree disease, damaged branches, or small, aesthetic cuts.

It’s possible to transplant trees as tall as 50 feet when an experienced tree planting service uses the right equipment. However, a tree with a trunk larger than two or three inches in diameter needs to be handled by a professional in order to yield successful transplanting results. Consulting a tree planting professional is the best way to tell if your large tree can be safely transplanted.

Yes, you can prune a palm tree with a chainsaw, but a chainsaw is overkill for a job like this. You risk damaging the tree if you make a bad cut. More commonly, you’ll need pruning shears or a serrated knife to trim a palm tree, or you can use a specialized pruning saw instead of a chainsaw.

Professionals use assessments, strategic cuts, specialized equipment, and safety measures to ensure healthy growth or the safe removal of trees or shrubs.

Completely topping a plum tree is a risky business. Cut too much, and you’ll kill your tree. That said, you do need to trim the top of your tree to encourage bushy growth, maintain your tree’s vase shape, and limit size.

A plum tree's central leader (or trunk) should never extend more than 3 feet above the highest branch. When you first plant your tree, cut the central leader so it’s 2 to 3 feet tall. As it grows, cut it back 12 to 20 inches until it reaches its desired height. Never prune more than one-third of the new growth.
