"Romain's Plumbing is the absolute best! We had a very bad leak in our 50 plus year old home that two other plumbers could not fix, pin point nor identify. He was able to troubleshoot and find exactly where the problem was, explain, figure out, fix and repair everything quickly and efficiently. He is honest, trustworthy, hard working, and most of all reliable and fair. This is the number one Plumber in South Florida!"

"I highly recommend Yaciel of Tri-County Repairs. He has done several jobs in my home and rental property, including installation of new sinks, new garbage disposal, repair of the a/c drain line, and replacing the a/c motor. He even went out of his way to find out that the motor for my a/c was under warranty and save me an $500 for the part alone. He has also funded several items for my clients like capping leaky refrigerator lines and troubleshooting appliances. What i live best about working with him is the level of professionalism. He s quick to answer the phone or text, he s realistic about timelines, and provides receipts for materials. He s also easy to work with and fair about pricing. Bilingual in English & Spanish too! I ve referred him to numerous clients because I know they are in good hands. This is rare to find in Miami!"

"First of all, I want to thank Rod and his associate for their continued concern that their work had solved my basement water issues. It has, and things are dry for the first time in umpteen years. I can now sit back and enjoy the winter months, rather than spend my time dealing with water problems. Rod has called me 4 or 5 times and has come back a couple of times to clear up a couple of small things. I would highly recommend SealProMax, and Rod, to anyone who might have basement water issues. Rod is a very conscientious person. And you don't find many people like that out there. Good job. Thanks Rod!"

French Drains questions, answered by experts

Common drain issues include slow-running drains, whether in a sink or shower, clogged drains, a bad smell, and water backing up into a sink, shower, or bathtub. Causes range from hair, grease, roots, or toilet paper clogging the drainpipes to flooding outside the home, which prevents sewer lines from draining properly.

An AC drip pan may stop draining if there’s a clog where the drip pan connects to the drain line. Clogs can form from a lack of cleaning or from rust or corrosion buildup. Cleaning the drip pan at least once per month lowers the chances of debris clogging the drain line.

While you don’t have to run out and immediately buy a new toilet at the first sign of a clog, if the toilet keeps clogging because it’s a low-flow or poorly designed model, a new toilet may be the way to go. If your toilet keeps clogging, you can try using less toilet paper, adjusting the fill valve, checking the toilet vent pipe on the roof, and using a toilet auger to make sure nothing is stuck in the pipe or trap.

There are several homemade solutions for clearing a clogged sink that don’t involve pouring harsh chemicals down your drain. Start by pouring hot (but not boiling) water down the drain. This can help dissolve and flush away grease and gunk. A splash of dish soap down the drain can also cut through fat and make it easier to clear the drain. For a more stubborn blockage, grab a plunger and give it a few firm pumps to dislodge the clog.

In the majority of cases, homeowners insurance will not cover a main sewer line root clog. The reason is that most insurance companies consider tree root damage to sewer lines as common wear and tear, which is also preventable. However, you may be able to buy optional add-on coverage, such as "service line coverage" or "sewer line endorsements," that would protect against root damage to your sewer line.
