"Enhanced cleaned my carpets and tile floors. My carpets are older and need to be replaced, but after the cleaning, they look great. My tile floors look amazing. Itâ s been a week after the cleaning and I am still admiring how great they look. Thank you, Glenn."

"The price point for 900 square ft of vinyl flooring and install, plus carpet on the steps, was fantastic. I didnâ t even look any further. The install was just as phenomenal. Barry and Eric did an immaculate job, and our townhome has a ton of corners. Also, as they were prepping to lay the vinyl, they realized the floor needed to be leveled. We needed at least 10 bags. It was an unexpected expense, but we are so thankful they required it. They guarantee their floors. And mine turned out beautifully. I cannot say enough about their work and Floor Designs. I highly recommend!"

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

Carpet density refers to how closely together the fibers of a carpet are stitched into the carpet backing, with values ranging from 1,000 to 7,000. A carpet density value of 3,000 or higher is considered best for most homes, especially in high-traffic areas, such as a living room or dining room. If you’re comparing two carpets made of the same material, a higher carpet density can indicate better durability and longevity. However, carpet density is only one of many factors that can help you determine a carpet’s quality.

If you’re using a carpet runner instead of a traditional carpet, pay attention to your width measurements. Instead of measuring the total width of your staircase with 2 added inches for foldover, simply measure the width you’d like the runner to cover. Runners generally come in standard sizes, so you may need to approximate what would look best in your space.

What a buyer prefers usually depends on the home’s layout and which material fits the current aesthetic. The local real estate market can also dictate these desires to some extent, as do the buyer’s personal preferences. With that said, laminate can increase the resale value of a home by a tiny bit, whereas carpet does not. Hardwood increases the resale value by the highest amount.

Installing carpet over carpet may affect the warranty of the new carpet. Check with the manufacturer or retailer regarding their warranty policies. Many warranties stipulate specific installation guidelines, and installing carpet over carpet may not comply with these requirements. Voiding the warranty due to improper installation methods can leave you without help in case of issues or defects with the new carpet.

If you want your carpet to last as long as possible, then yes, you need to install carpet padding. Carpet padding creates a layer of protection between the back of your carpet and the floor beneath it, which decreases friction and reduces wear and tear. Aside from that, carpet padding also helps absorb noise and makes your carpet feel more comfortable underfoot.
