"Two years ago, Garry Stidham restored the exterior of my badly neglected Haile home I had recently purchased. Today, it still looks absolutely perfect! The home had no matching interior doors. I purchased solid wood, six-panel, unpainted interior slab doors and had Garry prime, paint and install these new doors. As with every project, Garry executed the job to perfection!!! The doors were fitted, then sprayed with two high quality primer coats and two final finish coats and finally installed. They are beyond beautiful!!! He changed out all the hinges and door knobs as well as the door stoppers. He also fixed one of the door frames which was previously crooked. Now, all the doors are beautiful and functional. Of course, I had several other items he took care of. Once I have him, I don't want to let him go! As always, only Garry works on my home!"

"One of the best paint company without question. Their attention to deal is amazing. I am extremely happy and would recommend them to anyone. 5 stars plus. Language is a little difficult the owners only speak Spanish but their daughter and worker speak english. I found it to not be an issues."

"You just don't get service like this anymore. First, they stayed in constant communication through Angie. All questions were quickly and thoroughly answered. They were able to get us in on our schedule and arrived on time every day. They covered everything to prevent paint from getting on the wood floors and carpets. They did walls, ceiling, trim and doors at a reasonable price. The work was very professionally done. We are very happy with the results and highly recommend this company."

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

Some homeowners have luck using pressure washers, but this only works for old or weaker concrete sealants and with very powerful pressure washers. You’ll get better results by pressure washing water-based sealants. However, it’s worth trying on any sealant if you’re hoping for the least toxic, least expensive, and most DIY-friendly option. To try this method, rent or buy the most powerful pressure washer you can find and take several passes at the concrete, completely pressure washing the entire area. You may need to repeat the process multiple times to see results.

You can paint over lead paint, or “encapsulate” it with a special paint that includes an ingredient called an encapsulant. The EPA approves encapsulation as a lead paint removal method as long as the paint remains undisturbed. Standard types of paint without an “encapsulant” from the big box stores or hardware stores do not meet EPA standards for remediation of lead-based paint.

Think hard before deciding to German schmear your home’s exterior brickwork. If you do not like the look, you are pretty much stuck with it, as it is impossible to remove this finish the way you can remove paint. You risk damaging the underlying brick if you have to chisel and acid-wash it away. It will also take a very long time, and remnants of the mortar wash will always remain.

While not all homes built before 1978 contain lead paint, enough do, so you’ll still want to test to be on the safe side. The federal government banned lead-based paint for homes in 1978, but your state may have banned lead before that time. Around 24% of homes built between 1960 and 1977 contained lead-based paint, while 87% of homes built before 1940 contained lead-based paint.

The most common reason paint peels is because moisture gets trapped underneath it and disrupts its bond with the wall. Other causes for peeling paint include a poor original paint job, painting over a surface with dirt or other foreign material on it, or applying paint coats that are too thick.
