"Here’s a polished review you can use or adapt: --- I recently hired this landscaping company to trim my palm trees, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. From the first phone call to the final cleanup, their team was professional, punctual, and easy to work with. They arrived on time, explained exactly what they would be doing, and took great care while trimming the palms. The trees look healthier, cleaner, and much more balanced now. I especially appreciated how carefully they removed the dead fronds without over-trimming, which shows they really understand proper palm maintenance. Cleanup was excellent — they left my yard looking better than when they arrived. No debris, no loose branches, nothing left behind. They arrived on time, explained exactly what they would be doing, If you’re looking for reliable, knowledgeable landscapers who take pride in their work, I highly recommend them. I will definitely be using their services again for future maintenance."

"The entire job, of removing dead oak, and entirely cleaning up yard, was done in a very professional manner..The entire stump was removed, with a large grinder, which left nice wood chips, that were raked and left in place..The branches were up to 45 feet high, and we're removed with safety and care..The tree removal made my yard look great.."

"After trying to work with a couple of other landscape companies to tear out a single deformed foxtail palm behind a low 12â  high hedge and replace it with a triple Pygmy palm, we finally found Green Topps! The other companies just wanted to rip out an existing hedge. We took the tree down to the stump and Greentopps dug out the roots and planted a beautiful Pygmy that looks like it always was there. In addition, Greentops added another Pygmy to a different spot in the front yard. They also installed shrubs and plants in 4 areas of the front yard as well as rock and mulch. Gary worked with us patiently as we selected (and changed) some of the shrubs prior to installation. . The crew consisting of Tim, Nate, Jacob, and Andy worked diligently all day to transform all the areas to a beautiful new look. They were friendly and professional. We are very pleased with their work and highly recommend them."

Brush Chipping questions, answered by experts

The best way to clean an overgrown yard is to create a multi-stage game plan, from clearing out the debris to cleaning up the edges around hardscaping and landscape curbing. Get rid of yard debris like worn furniture and broken tools first, then start trimming and raking what’s left. Mow the grass, trim the hedges, and rake leaves away. Once that’s complete, move on to more detailed work, like pulling weeds and replanting gardens.

In general, you can prune up to one third of the height of most shrubs without damaging them. There are a few exceptions to this rule: Pine shrubs, for example, can’t be trimmed below the point of new growth without damaging them.

While you can leave roots in the ground, if you don’t want the shrub to regrow again over time, it’s best not to leave any roots behind. Ensure you remove as much of the shrub as possible, including the root ball and any main roots you can see, to prevent new growth. Some gardeners opt for using a chemical treatment to prevent the stump from growing back, but this can kill beneficial microorganisms living in your soil.

A thorn bush isn’t likely to do serious damage, but it’ll definitely hurt if you get a thorn or two in your hand or arm. When removing thorn bushes, always wear thick gloves, long sleeves, and safety goggles to protect against thorns and dirt. If dealing with larger bushes or unfamiliar terrain, consider enlisting a helper for assistance.

Trimming a rose bush is similar to cutting back your shrubs or other bushes.

First, you’ll start by removing old, damaged, or diseased branches from the base. Next, thin out the plant's interior by removing thin, weak branches. Finally, you’ll want to cut off buds where the leaves meet the stem.

Trim away using a 45-degree angle, as this will help with water runoff and promote new growth outward.
