"On or about June 15, 2020 I called this company to arrange duct cleaning. I was told the first time I could make an appointment was three weeks later, July 6. Because my tenants were concerned about dust I called another Company. AAA All brands and they did the work on June 23. On July 6th the appointment date Duct Doctor arrived and never called me to confirm the appointment and to be fair I didn't call them to cancel. When the technician looked for payment after finishing from the tenant (tenant not familiar with American standards) but the tech was supposed to call me for payment. I told the tech I already had someone clean the ducts and he said to call his Manager Tray which I did. Tray said they always check before starting work to see how clean/dirty the ducts were and he said there was no evidence any work had been done. I certainly paid them and I am certain they did the work. In an interest of civility I asked if we could work something out on the bill. Tray said he never had this situation before and would call Corporate. Tray and I missed each others calls but he finally said they would settle for $325 instead of something north of $400. Yes I suggested I had a Angies list coupon. I offered to pay $250.00. Our conversations have been civil and Tray seems like nice guy but we're at odds about a fair solution to this problem. Duct Doctor is at the high end of what they charge in this area of Palm Beach Gardens, Fl and this unit is less than a 1000 sq ft. In my opinion the office needs to follow up on appointments made so far in advance and make a call to remind people of the appointment What does Angie have to say about this?"

"WOW 𠤩 I was super impressed! From start to finish Justin did a phenomenal job cleaning my windows. I have a townhouse, and never did I realize how dirty the windows could get. I recently ordered new screens and thatâ s when it dawned on me -I would want my windows cleaned before my new screens would be installed. Fast forward to having a quote and having service done. I want to have all my windows showing at all times!!! I donâ t know how I was seeing outside before ð ³ SoFlo window washing was outstanding with their cleaning. Their technicians were on time, cordial, and left a sparkling impression. Best of all, the price was lower than expected."

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

A wood deck requires annual cleaning and regular inspections for loose or broken boards, nails, and screws. It should be refinished by applying a stain or sealer every two to three years to protect the wood from water damage, rot, mildew, and sun fading. The exact frequency can depend on the climate and the deck's exposure to sun and moisture. If your deck is painted, it will need repainting approximately every 10 years. Signs that your deck needs refinishing include faded, splintering, or warping boards.

Yes, Ipe wood is a popular high-end choice for pool decking. It repels water and is naturally slip-resistant. It's not susceptible to mold, mildew, or rot, either, so it lasts longer and is cleaner and more hygienic than other popular decking materials. However, remember that due to its status, it is a very high-cost wood, and you might find that an alternative would serve you just as well for significantly less.

Deck stairs should have at least three stringers rather than two. The recommended minimum width for stairs is 36 inches, and the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors recommends at least three cut stringers to provide sufficient support on wood decking stairs of this width. Generally, stringers should be a maximum of 16 inches apart for wood decking and 12 inches apart for more flexible composite decking.

Most building codes require that spindles or balusters on deck and stair railings be spaced no more than four inches apart. This safety standard, often called the '4-inch sphere rule,' is designed to prevent small children or pets from slipping through the railing. A good way to visualize this is that a 4-inch sphere should not be able to pass between two spindles. For the same safety reason, the space between the bottom rail and the deck floor should also be no more than four inches. As a general guideline, professionals often install three balusters per foot of railing. However, since specific requirements can vary by location, it is crucial to check your local building codes to ensure compliance before starting your project.

When deciding if you should use 2x6 or 2x8 deck joists, consider the size of the deck, joist spacing, and materials. Larger decks, larger-spaced joists, and weaker wood all require more support, meaning they need larger joists. For example, 2x8 redwood joists spaced 16 inches apart can only safely span up to 10 feet and 7 inches. On the other hand, 2x10 southern pine joists spaced 12 inches apart can be as big as 16 feet and 2 inches. If you aren’t sure what size joist is best for your project, speak with your deck builder.
