Small jobs welcome

"Mike Nucci and his "crew" are the consummate professionals. They had a question about the paint color selection; questioned me; helped pick the right color and even went to get the right one. When another contractor (not recommended by Home Advisor) "goofed up" Mike's work, Mike fixed it. He had several situations like this but my best interest was always his concern. He and crew were courteous, diligent, reliable. If this is what Home Advisor provides the public, I will never start a project without their advice. Mike is the best. He left the work area spotless. The entire project was completed in May. "Atta Boy" Mike and Home Advisor."

"Let me start off first by stating that I had a contractor come out before Hornet Power Washing to clean my roof. Well lets just say I was not impressed. When he was finished cleaning the roof it was just as black as it was before he got on it, however he assured me that it would brighten up after a couple of heavy rain falls, it never did. He burned up all of my shrubs in the process too. Frustrated and out of $250 I got on Angis to see if I could actually find a professional to come out and get the job done. I decided to go with Travis after he ran me through the cleaning process and explained how he would protect my landscaping while doing so. When he was finished it was a night and day difference! The roof pretty much looked new. Though he was not the cheapest quote I got, I honestly do feel it was money well spent. I would definitely be calling him back for my future pressure washing needs."

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Your deck may look or feel fuzzy after pressure washing because the high-pressure spray tears some wood fibers as it removes the outer layer of dead and discolored wood. This fuzzy effect is a normal part of the pressure-washing process and will go away on its own in a few weeks. You can opt to spot-sand your deck if you’d like to remove it more quickly.

It is possible to build your own deck, but it’s typically better to leave the work to a decking professional. Decks can be exceptionally complicated, especially if you want a wrap-around or second-story deck, and you don’t want to risk making an expensive or dangerous mistake. It’s usually better to hire a decking pro who can pull permits and build a structurally sound deck that will last for decades and provide the maximum return on investment.

The best and fastest way to remove paint from a deck often involves combining a chemical stripper with a pressure washer. Gel-based paint strippers are highly recommended because their thick consistency makes them less messy and easier to apply than liquid strippers. After applying the stripper to loosen the paint, you can use a pressure washer to efficiently wash away the residue. When using a pressure washer for this task, it's important to use a low pressure (under 1000 PSI) to avoid forcing too much moisture into the wood, which could lead to mildew or rot.

Staining and sealing the underside of a deck creates a moisture barrier but traps water in the boards, quickly leading to rot. No matter how well you seal the above deck, water still gets through via nails and screw heads on the surface. Allow this water to flow naturally under the deck, where it is routed through the drainage system.

Increases livable area and enhances aesthetic, often boosting property appeal.
