"I am thrilled with the work- a seal on my brick tiles in the lanai. The men came to my home swiftly, within an hour of my call for an estimate. I planned to get several estimates but liked them and wanted them on the job. They immediately cleaned the muddy, dirty lanai. I liked the two men very much and found the cost very fair . They were thorough, and quick. The next day, they applied the sealant in under an hour. I love the idea that we can clean it much better. This was a wonderful experience. Thank you Michael and Jamie!"

"Maurace, Evtech, did a wonderful job. He was punctual. His workmanship was done safely and his attention to detail was done to perfection. He was professional, respectful, efficient, and polite. Maurice and his team kept the surrounding area clean and at the end of the day they cleaned up the work area. The work was completed quickly and without sacrificing quality. Maurice, Evtech, priced the reasonably and stayed within budget. Once the job was completed the congregation could not believe the out standing workmanship that Maurace and his team put into the job. Outstanding, marvelous work"

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Pressure-treated decks last 15 to 20 years on average, but with proper maintenance, you could get 40 to 50 years of value from yours. Reseal your deck every one to two years, and replace old or rotted wood as soon as possible to avoid structural damage. Where you live plays a role in the lifespan of your deck. Intense sunlight, rainfall, wind, and hail can reduce the deck’s lifespan.

Yes, deck footings typically require an inspection before laying down concrete. While not all local building codes require footing inspection, proper placement ensures a safe and structurally sound deck. An inspector will verify that the deck can adequately hold what you put on top of it., and that the footings have been dug to the correct dimensions.

In the majority of cases, you don’t need regulatory permission or permits to remove decking components and materials. However, the exception is if you live in or near a wildlife conservation area, which could require permits and consent prior to beginning the demolition. Check with a local regulatory agency for more information.

Pressure-treated lumber is one of the most affordable types of decking upfront. This material is widely available, so you can usually find pressure-treated lumber at almost any local home improvement store you visit. Keep in mind that wood requires a lot of upkeep with repainting and restaining, so any kind of wood may be more expensive in the long run than something like PVC decking.

It is definitely worth sanding a deck to ensure the wood absorbs new stain. Sanding a deck removes the outer layers of aging wood, allowing the stain to penetrate. It also gives a fresh look to the entire surface as part of the deck refinishing process. Without sanding, your stain or sealant is less likely to absorb into the wood. While sanding a deck is a time-intensive project, the rewards are noticeable and long-lasting.
