"I hired LCRG on Thursday 5 PM to install a water softener/whole house water filtration system. They arrived Friday at 8AM with all the necessary supplies & equipment to complete the install. The crew was very friendly, explaining everything they did & how to operate the system. They were also extremely efficient; gone within two hours of arrive. They better be efficient. They had 5 more installs that day, and it was very hot & humid. Good doing business with a local, totally family run operation, and prices were very competitive; whole house system for little more than others wanted for just a softener. Very small salt tank & they fill it every 3-5 months & check the complete system for a very reasonable fee. Bottom line, we had soft water within 45 minutes-an hour after they finished. All I had to do was run the cold water for 5 minutes and then drain the water heater. Pretty simple and painless. Even paying wasnâ t painful!!ð ¬ð ¬"

"Ken and Danny did a fantastic job of installing a whole home water treatment for our townhome. Ken explained everything throughly and Danny installed it all within half a day. Carbon filter, UV Light, and Reverse Osmosis system for under the kitchen sink. I added on a replacement water heater as well since the old one was on expired time in my opinion. I would absolutely recommend this team to anyone because of their honesty, professionalism and work ethics."

"He called us right away. He came the same day we called after he finished another job. We had to cut our fence back so he could get his truck in the backyard so we asked if he could come back the next day. It was a Saturday and starting to get dark. He did some prep work for the next day and before all that happened he discussed all of our options with us. He came the next morning it only took him a couple hours. He was very knowledgeable, he did a great job, and got our water running again. We are new to living in a house with a well and he explained our systems (well/pump, filter, softener) to us and how to maintain them. He will be the only person I will call for service in the future and I would definitely recommend to anyone else needing well/pump work done."

"Great product information and sales pitch by local Victory First manager Anthony and price was very reasonable in comparison to other companies that came. Also, upon calling Anthony that I decided to purchase their water softener/filter, they were promptly here the next day and installed. We had the pleasure of having Jose install the system exactly where we wanted. Great job! The next phase is how well the system works. So far, so good. Thanks Victory! PS Only thing I would suggest would be to consider giving military discount to Veterans."

"I called Nathan and he answered right away. He was kind and courteous and very knowledgeable. I called a few other places and he was the only one who could answer my questions and give a free estimate. He came within the hour, replaced our water heater and the piping around it all within the price he first gave me, will definitely use him as our plumber!"

Water Softeners questions, answered by experts

A tankless water heater should be at least 10 feet away from a water softener, although the pros you hire for water softener installation can help you determine the correct distance. These two units need to have some distance between them to prevent hot water from the tankless water heater from flowing backward into the water softener when it runs a regeneration cycle.

The average cost to install a water softener, including the system and labor, is approximately $1,500. However, the total price can range widely from $600 to $6,000. For some complete systems, the cost may be between $800 and $2,500. Labor for the installation typically costs between $150 and $1,000.

The final price is influenced by several factors, including:

  • System type, capacity, and complexity

  • Home size and household water demands

  • Water hardness levels

  • Accessibility of the installation site and the extent of plumbing work required

  • Whether new electrical work is needed

  • The professional hired and any local permit costs

Replacing a water softener costs $200 to $6,000, depending on the capacity of the water softener, the type of water softener, and the amount of people living in your home. An ion exchange water softener is the most common type and costs $500 to $3,000. Water distillers, which cost $1,200 to $4,000, and dual-tank models, which cost $1,000 to $5,000, are definitely pricey, but they offer more filtration or capacity, respectively.

Yes, a water softener can remove scale deposits. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, after you add a water softener to your home, “gradually the softer water will dissolve limescale scale deposits and remove the problem entirely.” Installing a water softener—or water descaler—will also help prevent new scale deposits from forming.

Because it’s been through the water cycle, evaporating and becoming slightly acidic thanks to dissolved carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, rainwater tends to be naturally soft compared to groundwater, which has just been in contact with limestone. However, the natural hardness level of water always depends on where you are and other factors.
