"I would highly recommend LCRG Enterprises. Izryal has been absolutely tremendous in helping me with both of my properties in central Florida. One property had discolored water, and after a chlorination system was installed, it became instantly better. Izryal still comes by personally each month for service to the system. The other property received a water conditioning system that drastically softened my water. It has been a wonderful enhancement to the house. They have been a fantastic company to work with and I will absolutely be utilizing their services again on my next house."

"The sales rep took several water testsâ ¦ The sales rep took several water tests and showed me the results. She told me that I needed more than just a water softener. I also needed a system to address the rust and iron in my well water. I did not want to spend a fortune but the sales lady was pretty convincing. The price was good and the workmanship was excellent. My water is clean again ! Now I can tackle the original problem. My toilet has bad rust stains. I will either get it clean, or replace it. I could not do this until the water was fixed."

"The water pump went on my well , large family , no water. I spoke with him late last night , he was here before 10 in the morning, replaced my well pump, which is, oh, he said, well, over a 100 feet, deep, replace the pipe that went with it, then he replaced some things up top. I don't know exactly all what he did, but He was out here quick, he was effective. The price was great.I shopped around first and his price was very good.He was very responsive. And it just all around nice , kind of guy. We now have water, everything's good. And I would recommend him to anybody looking for repairs , for their well."

"Jordan from Turtle Clear did an outstanding job on our home. He installed a whole-house water filtration system, a reverse osmosis system for drinking water, and added two outdoor electrical outlets. Every part of the process was handled with professionalism, attention to detail, and clear communication. What really stood out was how much he went above and beyond—making sure everything was done right, taking the time to explain the systems, and ensuring we were completely satisfied before wrapping up. The quality of his work is excellent, and you can tell he truly takes pride in what he does. I would not hesitate to recommend Jordan to any of my friends or family. If you’re considering any similar work, he’s absolutely the person to call."

"Jerry and his partner showed up on time. The price was to be 175.00. That was HIGH but I wanted the job and over with so I can get my lawn watered. He kept telling me about some commercial grade rotary sprinkler. Sounded good to me. It took them about 20 minutes or less and they did more adjusting than replacing heads. That involves just a slight turn of a nozzle. He never replaced the heads except for 2 of them and they were not the commercial type he spoke of. They were Rainbirds: they are ok but you can buy them at any department or hardware store. Here's the deal. I was involved in horrific explosion several months ago. It has left me with some disabilities. My speech is not very good due to frontal lobe damage. Even though I sound like I don't know what's going on I MOST CERTAINLY DO. I originally was not going to post a review on Jerry's Total Outdoor service but it is a fact where lately, and quot;I have been taken advantage of since my accidentand quot;. I've decided to KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON ALL HANDYMEN DOING WORK FOR ME. AND call an Ace and Ace and a Heart a Heart. Did I mention the price turned out to be 200 bucks. I could have done that myself and quot;AND DID PRIOR TO THE EXPLOSIONand quot;: at the cost of 20 bucks.

Water Softeners questions, answered by experts

It’s not a good idea to oversize your water softener. Doing so will mean the tank doesn’t get full, which can lead to channeling. This leads to a large portion of the resin beads not being utilized and the beads at the bottom of the tank being overused. Over time, this will reduce the efficiency of your system, not to mention that the upfront cost of an oversized softener is unnecessarily high. If you have a timed regeneration cycle rather than a demand-based one, you’ll also spend far more on replacing salt than you need to.

The most effective way to fix hard water in your shower is by installing a whole-home water softening system. This system treats water as it enters your home, removing the minerals that cause hardness before they can reach your shower or any other fixtures. While this is the most comprehensive solution, other methods are often temporary fixes. For a more affordable and shower-specific option, you can install a water-softening showerhead or a shower filter. However, these filters are generally less effective and may not remove all the contaminants that lead to limescale and hard water stains. By implementing a water softening solution, you can expect a reduction in mineral deposits and enjoy the benefits of cleaner-feeling hair and skin.

A tankless water heater should be at least 10 feet away from a water softener, although the pros you hire for water softener installation can help you determine the correct distance. These two units need to have some distance between them to prevent hot water from the tankless water heater from flowing backward into the water softener when it runs a regeneration cycle.

Hard water doesn’t hurt, but it might feel more abrasive, especially if you have sensitive skin. It’s also about how your skin feels after bathing. You might feel as though you have a sticky film over your body because you do—it’s all that soapy residue left behind because the hard water can’t rinse it off completely.

The primary difference between a water softener and a water filter lies in what they remove from the water. A water softener is designed to remove hard minerals like calcium and magnesium. In contrast, a water filter has a broader effect, removing various contaminants above a certain size, which can include bacteria and other impurities.

To decide which you need, consider your goal. If you want to eliminate hard minerals, choose a softener. If you want to remove a wide range of contaminants, a filter is the better option. Filters are also generally less expensive to install. Depending on your water supply, you may need to install both for comprehensive treatment.
