"We are extremely satisfied with the job performed by Oscar. Oscar painted our home, installed light fixtures and replaced light switches around the house. He showed up on time every day, was detailed driven and maintained a good communication with us during the process. Oscar was always honest and told us exactly what we needed and what we did not need. We absolutely recommend him!"

"Would definitely recommend them even though they’ve only been in business for a year. They’re a hard working company that is still very humble and efficient. We need to install an arched wall in my child’s bedroom and we had the materials and they had no problem coming in and finishing the job."

Customers say: Quality work

"EZ Projects solved my attic problem. There was no air flowing into the attic from the eaves. They removed the aluminium soffits and cut holes in plywood that was there when house was built (contractor who installed soffits neglected to do this), then reinstalled the soffits. Chris, the owner figured out how to remove and replace soffits without damaging them. He came up with a creative solution. He's the only one I talked to who understood my problem. The soffits look as good as new. Air is now flowing through the eaves. I like people who think outside the box. Most people I talked to didn't understand the problem or thought it was too difficult. The crew were courteous, friendly, and efficient. The job was done in day and a half. Quick scheduling too. We initially talked about a week before the work was done. Price was fair plus I got a senior discount. Always nice...I will call them again. Good company."

Fire Pit Installation FAQs, answered by experts

As with any smoking appliance, a smoking oven is a concerning fire risk. It also negatively impacts your indoor air quality, which can put vulnerable people at risk of breathing problems. A dirty oven can catch fire if you don’t stay on top of regular maintenance, so remember to check your oven for signs that it’s time for a cleaning and remove buildup every three months to stay on the safe side.

Pellet stoves are safer than wood stoves in many ways. They don’t produce as many creosote deposits as wood stoves do, they create less smoke, and the flames are contained, decreasing the risk of any sparks or embers creating a house fire. Pellet stoves also burn more cleanly and efficiently than wood stoves do.

A spark arrestor is a simple metal mesh device that prevents flammable particles from escaping from a combustion source and causing a fire. You typically find these attached to gas or diesel engines on things like cars, generators, and garden tools (lawnmowers, chainsaws, etc.). Fireplace or wood-burning stove chimneys also have spark arrestors attached to or sitting under the chimney cap to capture burning embers.

While your forced heating system runs, it can pick up dirt, dust, hair, and other particles from inside your house. Changing your furnace filters regularly is key to preventing this debris from getting stuck in your ducts and swirling around your home. With some types of furnaces, there’s also the potential for carbon monoxide leaks. However, staying up-to-date with your HVAC inspections and installing carbon monoxide sensors can help mitigate this risk.

Start by checking the top or side edge of the door. Look for a certification label or metal tag stamped with details like the fire rating and information on the manufacturer. Even if it’s painted over, the tag should still be visible. Next, look along the edges for slim intumescent strips. They’re designed to swell up and seal gaps when exposed to heat. Finally, check if the door closes itself. Most fire doors have a self-closing mechanism, like an overhead closer or spring hinges. If none of these are obvious, contact a fire safety professional to help verify your door.
