"I needed an estimate and ideas how to clean cherry wood floors. They explained everything to me, the process and fair price. I was happy with everything I heard. Most likely, I will hire them. Impressed."

"Phil was very professional and friendly. I had a very strong trust in leaving him alone in my condo, when I was out at times. He would keep me updated on the progress of the job at all times. He had no issues that he could not handle. He constantly cleaned up after every procedure. My wife and I began to think of him as a friend. He is a big very strong man. He always asked if I liked and approved of each project. I would recommend him to anyone who was looking for an excellent all around Handy-man. His price for the whole job was better than competitive. He did so much more without extra fees."

"My experience with Advanced Tile and Marble was excellent. If you want a contractor who is always on time, always shows up when he says he will and does an excellent job this is the person to hire. My bathroom looked so good that my daughter hired him to put LVP flooring in the whole upstairs of her house. Both experiences were excellent. The quality of work and the end product can not be surpassed. The best experience I have ever had working with a contractor in South Florida. I highly recommend this pro, he goes above and beyond."

Floor Cleaning and Waxing questions, answered by experts

Polishing a concrete floor isn’t as expensive as it sounds—it’s actually one of the more budget-friendly upscale flooring options out there. On average, it costs $4,500, with most projects falling between $1,000 and $8,000 . When you’re working with an existing slab of concrete, you skip material costs entirely, so it’s even more affordable. If you want a glossy, durable floor without paying hardwood or tile prices, polished concrete delivers serious shine without the sticker shock.

Commonly used in garages, epoxy is a synthetic resin coating that goes over the top of concrete surfaces. If you’re deciding between polished concrete and epoxy flooring, the best choice depends on your needs and personal preference. Epoxy is durable and highly customizable, while polished concrete tends to require less maintenance. They’re both long-lasting with similar price points, and professional installation is recommended for each.

Yes, you can mop hardwood floors with a damp flat or string mop as long as it is not soaking wet. Always avoid leaving standing water or fully soaking your hardwood floors, even if they are properly finished. A slightly wet mop, with or without cleaning solutions, will not damage the wood.

Most DIY floor cleaners don’t require rinsing, but you’ll want to make sure you don’t add too much dish soap or oil to the cleaner to avoid having to rinse it after cleaning. For non-wood floors, mix 8 parts warm water, 1 part vinegar, and 1 part baking soda with a few drops of dish soap. For wood floors, use olive oil in that same mixture instead of the vinegar. You can let these solutions air-dry after cleaning your floors with them, although you should manually dry your floors if they aren’t waterproof.

Professionals use various tools and cleaning solutions based on the type of floor they’re cleaning. They often use industrial steam cleaners to pull debris out of the carpet. For localized stains, they may use a commercial cleaner or a mixture of water, vinegar, and dish soap. For tile, they’ll typically use dish soap and hot water, plus a mixture of baking soda and hot water for the grout. For cleaning wood floors, they might use a low-heat steamer, a mop with an oil wood floor cleaner, or a mixture of hot water, vinegar, and lemon juice.
