"Very good. Change over to the LED was quickly done and very improved lighting. Reasonable price and very efficient. Because we were impressed with the work, we also had Destiny Electric install an exhaust fan in the master bathroom where none was present. Work crew arrived at appointed time and efficiently installed the new fan in very reasonable time and at reasonable price. We would have Destiny Electric handled any future electrical at our home."

"I called David Gray to replace a ceiling fan in the living room and install two motion censor lights on my front porch (both were already wired just need the fixtures swapped out). A little pricey, but I felt better having an electrician come out to do this work rather than a handyman especially since I wasn’t sure if the fan was going to work (the one that was previously there did not work -wasn’t sure if it was the fan or the wiring). Andrew did a good job and I would use David Gray again."

Small jobs welcome

"I needed my electrical box changed in order to obtain a new insurance home policy. It was really time sensitive, and Mr. Alie of Dalie Solutions, LLC came to my home to complete the work on New Year Day which was the only opening in his schedule for the current week. The actual electrical box install went very smoothly, but then there was an issue with the location of wiring that was not correctly installed previously. Mr. Alie persevered until the wire was found and the issue corrected. I enjoyed his professionalism, knowledge and experience, as well as, the care that he provided to my home. He and his assistant, Carl, cleaned up the work area before they left and ensured that my home was left in a pristine condition. I really appreciated that and the quality job that he performed."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

When hiring in Jacksonville, prioritize professionals with proven experience in local codes, flood zone adaptations, and hurricane preparedness. Look for clear communication, detailed written estimates, and strong warranties. Positive reviews from Jacksonville homeowners and references from recent projects are essential. Also, ensure your contractor is familiar with electrical panel upgrades, outdoor wiring, and smart home integration for the area’s unique needs.

Helpful?

Completing electrical projects in Jacksonville offers immediate benefits like improved safety, reliable power during summer storms, and reduced risk of outages. Over time, upgrades such as smart home systems, EV charging stations, and energy-efficient lighting can lower utility bills and increase property value. These improvements also make your home more appealing in Jacksonville’s real estate market and prepare you for future energy incentive programs.

Helpful?

In Jacksonville, homeowners should consider local building codes, especially for outdoor wiring and electrical panel upgrades in flood-prone neighborhoods. Historic districts may have strict rules on exterior changes, while hurricane-prone areas often require storm surge protection and elevated panels. Also, check for HOA restrictions on visible electrical work and generator placement, and review utility requirements for solar panel installations or backup power systems.

Helpful?

In Jacksonville, be cautious of quotes that are unusually low, lack details about permits or code compliance, or don’t address storm surge protection or flood zone requirements. Avoid contractors who pressure you for quick decisions, request large upfront payments, or can’t provide proof of insurance. Poor communication, vague project descriptions, or reluctance to share local references are also warning signs.

Helpful?

Jacksonville’s humid, stormy climate means electrical systems face extra challenges from moisture, salt air, and frequent lightning. Outdoor wiring should use marine-grade materials, and surge protection is crucial to guard against power spikes. Hurricane season can delay projects, and homes in flood zones may need raised electrical panels. Scheduling work during drier, cooler months helps ensure safer, more reliable installations.
