This was about 2:30 in the afternoon.  He came over within the hour with a new water heater and had it replaced in a matter of an hour and a half.  The water heater was in a tight spot between the air handler and a work bench. He did have to cut out the condensate drain piping on the air handler to remove and replace the water heater.  But he replaced/re-plumbed the condensate drain line at no charge.
