"The owner of D. R.’S Lawn Service came out and gave me the most reasonable estimate. He explained everything that he was going to do to my lawn. He couldn’t come out until 5/18/2021 which was fine with me. He took out all the dead grass and replaced it with new sod. They bagged all the old grass and then showed me the end product which was perfect. He told me if I had any problem call and he would take care of it. That is a 10 star review in my book. Jim Sharp"

"Look no further than Cornerstone for your paving or stone wall installations. From first call to last paver laid the entire team was exceptional. Their attention to detail and commitment to customer care would be difficult to match by any of their competitors. I should know, I initially chose another company that talked a good game, but failed to deliver. So learn from my experience and hire the best the first time, Cornerstone!"

"Javier and the team did a great job. I hired Terra Pavers to redo my pool deck and a large paved are in my back yard, they were very professional, on time, reasonably priced, great customer service, and went above and beyond to make sure that the job will come out perfect. I highly recommend Terra pavers, thank you so much guys!!"

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

While you can leave roots in the ground, if you don’t want the shrub to regrow again over time, it’s best not to leave any roots behind. Ensure you remove as much of the shrub as possible, including the root ball and any main roots you can see, to prevent new growth. Some gardeners opt for using a chemical treatment to prevent the stump from growing back, but this can kill beneficial microorganisms living in your soil.

A half inch above ground level is ideal for metal edging. This provides enough depth for the edging to hold in place and enough height to keep in most landscaping materials (like mulch or gravel). If you install edging too high off the ground, it will stand out from your landscaping and pose a tripping risk. If you install it too low, your ground cover won’t stay in place.

Determining how many boulders you’ll need for your landscaping project depends on the area you need to cover and how big each boulder is. First, you’ll need to determine how big of an area you want covered, then divide that by the base surface area of the boulders. A landscape professional can help you determine how many boulders will be right for your project.

There are many factors to consider when building an in-ground concrete pool. This includes the pool’s primary purpose (relaxation or exercise) if you live in a warm or cold climate (how often it’ll be used), and if you have the budget for chemical treatments and pool maintenance. In-ground pools are often more costly than aboveground pools, but they’re considered more luxurious and hold more value.

A scattering of leaves won’t pose a problem through the winter, but a thicker layer of leaves may not decompose before the first frost and can instead weigh down your grass and harbor mold or fungi. A thick layer of leaves also cuts off light and air that grass needs to grow. That’s why we suggest removing thick leaf layers within several days if possible. If your lawn goes dormant over the winter and snow has already caught up with you, then remove the leaves in early spring before your grass-growing season starts so your lawn can thrive.
