"I had to have an insurance inspection and the electrical part failed on this 1955 house. Joel from Court Electrical did an amazing job. The had to redo both electrical panels, running wire through the ceiling with minimal impact/cutting. Had to do 4 wire runs for the range and dryer also. Also independently identified code violations outside to the air handler and exterior outlets. It was a big job and he was very knowledgeable, skillful and communicated well, explaining everything. For the size of the job the cost was very reasonable."

"I had 4 ceiling fans replaced and I was a bit surprised by the price (it was more than I wanted to pay) but the old fans needed to be replaced asap. Overall, I'm happy with the job and the electrician was on time, friendly, and had to job done and cleaned up in a few hours."

"They were wonderful.  They worked so hard cleaning the house.  They didn't even take a short break.  When they left the house was spotless.  They cleaned everything including the tops of the fans and the patio doors.  We tend to have lots of dust since we have pets, but they took care of everything.   Monia, the owner made a follow up courtesy call to see how everything went- very classy.   I have already referred them to two other families and will definitely use them again.

"And they did it again!!! First and foremost, I would like to express my gratitude to Jacob T for his professionalism during the installation of the new evaporator coil in one of my air handlers. At the same time, I would like to point out that he was very knowledgeable and patient with all my questions and concerns I had related to the AC unit he was working on . In general, thanks again Cornerstone for your dedication and punctuality with your customers ."

"I liked that you always got someone on the phone when you called and they stuck to their word. They came when they said they would. We thought we would have a problem when one of the workers made a hole in our ceiling, but they came back to fix it when they said they would be coming and you can’t even tell the difference. Quality workmanship! I would definitely re-hire if I needed to."

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

Stainless steel or aluminum fans are long-lasting and have less air resistance. They are best for outdoor use as their durability helps them withstand unpleasant weather conditions. Their heavy weight requires a stronger motor, which leads to more noise than other blade materials.

Wooden fan blades are a classic, durable option. They are much quieter than metal fans and feature a wide range of styles and finishes to choose from. However, they can be damaged by moisture if not covered with plastic.

Plastic fan blades are lightweight, easy to clean, and versatile. There are various shapes and styles to choose from as plastic is easily molded and dyed. They will also deteriorate slower than other materials as they aren’t as susceptible to humidity and moisture.

To determine if your ceiling box can support a fan, you must check if it is specifically fan-rated. Manufacturers are required to indicate this on the box itself. You may need to remove the existing light fixture to look inside the ceiling box for an inscription stating it is rated for fan use. If you do not see this confirmation, the box is likely not strong enough and must be replaced with a fan-rated junction box. For a proper and safe installation, you should also use a fan brace to secure the new box between the ceiling joists, which provides the necessary support for the fan's weight and motion.

Many ceiling fan mounts feature a design that can accommodate slight slopes by using a ball joint mechanism at the end of the downrod. If your ceiling has a steeper slope than your fan allows for, you can install a downrod that will allow your fan to safely hang below the slope.

Identifying the source of noises is your first step to soundproofing a room without overspending. Generally, sound comes from inside or outside of the house. Inside noises include creaking floors, living noises like TVs in the living room, cooking sounds, or kids being kids. External noises generally include incremental weather, disturbing neighbors, and street traffic. Inside noises require you to soundproof floors, ceilings, and doors, whereas outside noises may require you to soundproof your attic, windows, and walls facing the streets.

Fan power is measured by CFM, or cubic feet per minute. For every 1,000 feet of square footage in your attic, you need a minimum of 700 CFM. Steeper roofs may need larger fans or about 840 CFM.  You can figure the size of attic fan you need by multiplying the square footage of your attic floor by 0.7. (multiply by 1.2 for a steep roof and 1.15 for a dark roof). That number is the CFM required for your fan to run efficiently.
