Small jobs welcome

"Matt from We Do It All was professional, thorough, knowledgeable. He showed up on time and worked the full-day. The job included installing outside wall sconces (making sure they fit correctly), replacing two ceiling fans, mounting two 70 inch rods into the stucco on my lanai, and installing two outside Eufy cameras. With the cameras, he walked me through the set up on my iPhone and made sure they were operational before he called it a day. He checked with me after each installation to make sure I was satisfied with the result. Lastly, he cleaned up and hauled away the discarded items. Without a doubt, I would hire him for another job!"

"Paul and his crew were 1st class. Completed all the tasks on time and would not leave until is was perfect. It was a difficult install of a barn door which took some time. I have no hesitation in recommending True Blue."

"Paul was just the handyman we were looking for in our move- out/move-in projects. He was prompt, knowledgable and went the extra mile to help us complete our 'to do' list. This included door repair and new door hardware and expert picture hanging. We highly recommend him and will use his services anytime there's a need."

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

Wood-burning fireplaces typically make homeowners insurance more expensive, simply because they increase the risk for a fire in your home. Gas and electric inserts are less likely to bring up your insurance rates, but you should always speak with your agent to understand how installing any type of fireplace will affect your premiums.

Bioethanol fireplaces are safe when users follow the instructions and maintain the fireplace. Ethanol is flammable, however, and should be kept away from flammable surfaces, children, and pets.

Concrete homes have better fire resistance because this material is highly resistant to fire and heat. But any paint, siding, windows, roofing, or other materials on a concrete home may still be flammable. Never try to stay in a building with a large, active fire or a wildfire approaching because this can still be deadly. However, building a fireproof home with concrete can better protect the structure against total destruction.

You might be able to turn a normal door into a fire-rated door, but you’re better off purchasing one that meets all NFPA 80 standards. If you want to DIY a normal door into a fire door, you’ll need a self-adhesive intumescent seal, metal hinges, fire-resistant glazing, and a self-closing device, but you’re always better off buying a certified fire door.

Your pilot light needs to be on whenever you’re using your furnace to heat your home. However, you might decide to turn it off during the summer months, when you don’t need heating. Doing this can save you a little bit of money on utility costs—just make sure you’re fine with relighting your pilot light (or hiring a professional to do it) when fall comes around and you’re ready to get cozy.
