"Make sure you keep Matt’s contact information!!!. He is highly professional and easy to work with . I needed to have a door lock replaced and he did that. He also did some sheetrock repairs and it was absolutely perfect! He confirmed his appointment ahead of time and showed up on time. Highly professional and a nice guy. "Rodolfo Palmas does it all. I needed a handyman to help me put my house back together after the hurricane. My sons room was priority for me since he had no drywall or ceiling in his room. I reached out to him and he responded immediately and came to see me the next day. He gave me an estimate and understood that this was important to me. He started the job right away and kept coming to make sure he took care of his room. We would communicate and he let me know when he was coming and the time. He is caring and as a family man he understood that children comes first. My sons room looks awesome and I am very grateful to him. We will continue to communicate in order to keep fixing my house at a pace that works for me and my husband. I have an entire house to fix but my heart is happy because he helped me take care of my son. God bless him and his family. I would definitely hire him for my future projects."

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

Chimney caps are necessary both from a building safety standpoint in most municipalities and to keep your home protected from a variety of issues. Chimney caps are not only mandated by building code in most areas, but they also serve to keep squirrels, raccoons, and other pests out of your home, as well as snow and rain. Therefore, they help to avoid property damage, making them a worthwhile investment.

While a hot fire can help heat up and loosen tar within your chimney, making it a recommended step before using a creosote log, it will not burn off significant existing buildup on its own. Attempting to remove built-up creosote with a hot fire is dangerous and can cause a chimney fire. For safe and effective removal of caked-on creosote, the best approach is to hire a professional chimney sweep.

Yes, a water leak poses a major fire risk at your home because water is a conductor of electricity. Water that comes into contact with sparks or electrical wires can instantly ignite flammable materials. Additionally, any type of exposure to water can cause wires and other electrical components within your home to corrode. When assessing categories of water damage, it's important to know that even a small amount of moisture near wiring could cause sparks that lead to a fire.

If you plan to put a fire pit on a grassy area, be sure to put compacted paver sand down first to help level out the ground and add better heat protection. If you’re placing a fire pit on hardscaping, like a concrete patio, consider placing a fire pit mat down first. This can add more protection from the heat and also protect the look of your hardscaping if you choose to remove the fire pit in the future.

There are several maintenance tips you should take to ensure your pellet stove's safety and proper maintenance. You should vacuum the ash pan every week to prevent overflowing and clean the stove and surrounding vents every three to four months. It’s also important to get a professional inspection every year and install a carbon monoxide detector close to your stove. Be sure to dispose of hot ashes in a closed metal container; store it outside, away from the house. Only use the pellets recommended by your stove's manufacturer, and follow any cleaning and maintenance instructions.
