"Sosso Remodeling is a must-have if you're looking for remodeling your property. He does a really excellent job and is skilled in everything he does with very high quality. I hired Sosso remodeling to do several things that were needed to be done like bathroom remodeling, electrical work, and more. The results were very impressing. His attention to detail is unbelievable! No regret hiring him and is definitely worth the value."

"it went well.  Dan and his assistant arrived on time.  he had to leave and get the supplies he needed after he saw the job that needed to be done.  they both did a good job and was worth the money.  my only comment would be he seemed a little annoyed when he had to go back to Home Depot again for more supplies, which was certainly not my fault, and seemed to not want to paint, which was part of the job I hired them for.  all in all, a good experience and would use them again.

"Little did we realize when we purchased our home that the shower in the master bath had been improperly constructed, creating moisture-rot and degradation to structural a support joist under our house. Fortunately, we discovered the problem before any permanent damage had occurred, but finding the right contractor for such an important job wasn't all that simple. Our one trusted contractor had moved, and therfore was unavailable. Calling Arthur Forrest with Faith Construction was, to me, a bit of a risk, as his company had less than a half-dozen reviews on Angie's List--although they were all A-ratings. But I was searching for a list of qualifications--the perfect combination of knowledge and skill, communication and customer service skills. And I hoped to find someone who actually cared about his work and reputation. I believe I found all I was looking for when I met Arthur Forrest. He returned my call right away. Check. Rather than delaying his estimate, he worked us into his schedule to come take a look at the problem, and was able to give us his professional opinion within 24 hours. Check. His price was quite fair. Check. Everything he presented to me seemed to line up with the positive reviews I had read about him, as he seemed to care about the work, and put in the time to assessing the problem and getting the proposed solution right. Check. The work was done under my husband's scrutiny, who is not always easy for contractors to please. But by the end of the job, which was done on time and on budget, my husband had nothing but wonderful things to say about the quality of the job. Faith Construction had gone above and beyond to ensure that their work was done to his satisfaction, and done right, without cutting any corners. Mr. Forrest has left me with the string impression that he is an ethical man with a deep concern for his customers' satisafaction, and his company's reputation. After seeing what he is capable of accomplishing, and having experienced how this company conducts business, I have no reservations in recommending Faith Construction to anyone who wants a job done right. I am very pleased."

Basement Remodel questions, answered by experts

Anything having to do with the structure of your home, such as raising the ceiling, is usually the most expensive part of finishing a basement. Another project component that could be a surprisingly high expense is adding an exterior entrance.

The cost of a walkout basement can be anywhere from $5,000 to $35,000.

It’s less expensive to finish your basement than it is to build an addition to your home. The average cost to refinish a basement is $32,000 (between $7 and $23 per square foot) while building an addition to your home costs $50,325 ($80 to $210 per square foot). Depending on the size of your basement and other factors, like moving plumbing and electrical, refinishing a basement is a more cost-effective option in most cases.

If you have the woodworking experience to build a bar from scratch and you have the time, DIYing the work is a no-brainer and can save a few thousand dollars. However, if you’re looking to include a sink, additional lighting fixtures, or high-end bar tops and cabinets, it’s usually a better idea to call in a pro. It will cost more, but the finished product will likely be worth it.

Envision the type of bar experience you'd like to create for your guests. For example:

  • Does your basement have enough finished space for bar stools or seating?

  • What type of additional lighting would set the tone for the room?

  • Are there basement windows or an HVAC system?

  • Do you need new plumbing in your basement for a proper wet bar?

  • Could you be happy with a built-in wall cabinet bar rather than a full-scale wet bar?

Adding an extension or addition to your home costs more than a loft conversion in all but the rarest cases where the home's structural integrity is lacking. Because a home addition requires a new foundation section or significant structural upgrades to handle a cantilevered portion, the cost compared to almost any loft conversion is significantly greater for the same square footage.
