"We couldn’t be more pleased with the service we received. In fact, we are so happy with our floors (entire 1st floor) that we have already put a deposit down to do the second floor. From our initial call for a quote to job completion was less than two weeks. The owner Jorge is very helpful, honest and his prices are very competitive. His crew was efficient, considerate, professional and fast. We highly recommend Nathan’s Carpet and Flooring."

"When starting our search for new flooring I visited many flooring companies but did not find what I was looking for. I live in Pembroke Pines, but drove all the way down south to Pride Flooring based on their positive reviews. It was a good decision, we are extremely pleased with our new Coretec vinyl flooring. They had a wide selection to choose from and Mark helped us to pick the right color, allowing us to take the samples home to see which looked best. The installers Brett, Daniel and Fernando did a great job. It was a big job for the 3 bedrooms and office, and having to use a machine to take up some glued down hardwood in the master area. The rooms look great and we would definitely recommend Pride Flooring"

"My husband and I are very pleased with our floor. Jorge and his crew were great. I appreciate him taking the time to explain everything they were doing and answering all my questions. Thank you. Because my floor was a little complicated. But they worked it out and this is the result. Overlove our new flooring."

"The customer service is excellent. An appointment time and estimate was quick as was scheduling 1200 sqft of marble flooring and counters for cleaning and polishing. The floors look brand new! All work was performed to the satisfaction of the customer. Care was taken to follow-up on all work performed. Expectations were exceeded."

Customers say: True professional

"Fernando from TLC Hardwood Floors did an excellent job. He was knowledgeable, professional, punctual, clean and flexible. He managed to salvage my wood floors who where in really bad shape due to flooding. I would recommend TLC Harwood Floors to anyone who wants quality work."

"I had an amazing experience with this company. I had my old floors removed from my bedroom and installed brand new solid wood floors. They did a great job! I ended up sanding and refinishing the rest of my house. We are extremely happy with the results! We will definitely recommend to family and friends."

"Workers scratched furniture, walls and doors and kept quiet about it. Carpet wasn't nailed or glued, just laid down on floor. They didn't put any cover to the end sides of the carpet right by the door so dirt could end up underneath the carpet. Job wasn't as professional as I expected from a prestigious company."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Carpet tiles are less expensive than traditional carpet. The average cost of carpet installation is $1,800, or $3 to $11 per square foot. In comparison, carpet tiles cost $2.50 to $11 apiece and can often be bought in bulk cartons. Since you can more easily DIY carpet tiles, you may be able to save on installation costs, too.

When deciding whether to repair or replace your carpet, consider its age, the extent of the damage, and its location. It's often best to replace the entire carpet if the damage is extensive, such as large sections needing replacement, or if it's caused by water, which can lead to mold problems. Similarly, if your carpet is nearing a decade old, replacement is likely the more logical choice. On the other hand, consider repairing your carpet if the damage is localized to one spot, like minor rips or snags, the carpet is still relatively new, or the damage is in a low-traffic area of your home.

The best flooring for radiant heat systems is tile, including porcelain, ceramic, and natural stone. These materials are excellent heat conductors, retain warmth well, and are waterproof, which prevents mold or rot in case of leaks from a hydronic system. Unlike wood, they do not pose a fire safety risk if the heating system overheats. Ceramic tile is a particularly popular choice as it is inexpensive, easy to install, and available in many styles, making it ideal for spaces like bathrooms. Other flooring types that work well with radiant heat include laminate, engineered wood, and vinyl. If you are installing radiant heating over a concrete slab, especially in a basement, it is advisable to install a vapor barrier first to prevent issues with moisture and condensation.

Your room doesn’t need to be completely empty to restretch a carpet, but you’ll need enough space that you can move around furniture to access the wrinkled areas and the wall where you’re reattaching the carpet. A contractor will move your furniture out of the way before they start the job, but you can save money by moving your furniture before they arrive.

As with anything you buy, be wary of prices that seem too good to be true. Some low-cost flooring products can contain chemicals that release harmful VOCs (volatile organic compounds) in the form of fumes that can be inhaled or dust that can cause skin conditions.

Even good-quality products can be dangerous for DIY-ers who don’t take proper precautions. Always carefully read manufacturer instructions and wear the recommended protective gear when working with paints and other chemicals. You can also hire a local garage flooring pro with the experience and equipment needed to perform the installation safely with no lingering fumes or debris.
