"Tub to shower conversion. Awesome job and great customer service. I had a minor issue and Sebastion came out and fixed the problem. Very professional job. I love this shower and highly recommend Clearwater Shower and Bath."
"Tristan, Esteban, and David did a WONDERFUL job on removing our old tub/shower and installing a new shower! Itâ s much more safer and even makes the bathroom look even better!! Great Job, Thank you!"
"We had our 25 year old master bath totally renovated from one with a typical tub/shower, to a large sliding glass rain shower. New tiling for walls and floor, plumbing, painting and texturizing walls, wall reinforcement for hanging some heavy cabinets, and adding in new electrical outlets, ceiling fan, and mirror lighting. Basically, everything was gutted to nothing and rebuilt all new. We already had Quadrati reno half of our guest bathroom 8 or 9 years ago so it was an easy decision to use them again. The crew were fast, friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly knew what they were doing. We had some questions, and the guys walked us through their experience and thoughts. Sort of hand holding, and it all worked out fine. Plus, they cleaned up almost like they hadn’t been here at all. Bonus. The only real downside was that they’re busy. So scheduling ahead for an opening of their workload needs some planning. Minor stuff, but worth the effort. This fall, we’ll likely get that other half of the guest bathroom finished off by them too. Zero apprehension of their work. 100% recommend them."
"They did a tub to shower conversion and everything about it went flawlessly. I have a beautiful new shower and I'm extremely happy. Would highly recomend this company."
"Had work done in my guest bathroom which isn't listed I went under remodel. Had a tub removed and added just a shower stall. I liked their product, in fact I recommended them to a couple people. They're installers went above and beyond very pleased! My only issue was they only used Delta products I would have preferred grohe fixtures. Very fast responses to my phone calls."
"I waited approximately 6 months after the installation at my home of an acrylic alcove shower to see truly how the product would hold up and perform. I can safely say that there has been not one issue with product quality or performance. I am pleased with the work."
"Ray was our installer. Very professional, never took a break until work completed. Excellent job. A complete tear down of old fiberglass tub and surround. And now we have a beautiful tub and surround. Have used Bathfitter before for shower and knew what to expect."
"They did an amazing job and very thorough in their work to complete the shower installation. After they were done working they cleaned up the area which was so nice and thoughtful. They completed the shower installation in just 4 days and I truly thought it was the best overall experience I’ve ever had with work being done at my house. I would hire them again."
Tub Shower Conversion questions, answered by experts
In most cases, you can remove your showerhead without turning off your main water supply. You just need to make sure your shower isn’t on before you screw off the showerhead. That said, you may experience a small trickle of leftover water in the pipe.
If you have an older showerhead, it may be a good idea to turn off the main water supply because this job can put pressure on the pipes. If you have a shower shut-off valve, it will be hidden somewhere in a nearby access panel.
A shower handle that turns all the way around usually means that the set screw holding the handle on has loosened. Find the screw and tighten it with a screwdriver. If that doesn’t work, replace the shower handle, as an internal component in the old one may have broken, causing the normal valve stop to disengage.
The cost to replace a showerhead varies depending on the model and whether you hire a professional. A new showerhead typically costs between $50 and $100, though high-end models with upgraded features can cost $300 or more.
For a DIY installation, you can expect to spend about $75 in total for the showerhead, tools, and supplies. If you hire a professional, labor costs are generally between $50 and $100. Some estimates place the total cost for labor and materials between $80 and $220, with an average project cost around $260.
The final price is influenced by factors such as the type of showerhead (e.g., a standard single-wall mount versus a luxurious model) and the number of showerheads being installed.
In some cases, a broken shower is a maintenance emergency. For example, burst pipes, flooding, and significant leaks all qualify as plumbing emergencies and should be handled immediately. Other shower issues (like slow draining and low water pressure) aren’t as urgent, but it’s still a good idea to address them sooner rather than later.
Most professional bathroom remodeling contractors take two to four hours to replace a shower door. The total time varies by the project's complexity and whether removal and disposal of a previous shower or tub are included in the project scope. Replacement also takes longer if you replace your shower door as a DIY project.
