My Handy Craftsman recently completed a home improvement project for us in our kitchen and three bathrooms. Our project included adding a tile backsplash in the kitchen, adding tile accent walls in the bathrooms, removing countertops and removing and replacing sinks and faucets in the kitchen and bathrooms as well as removing and replacing mirrors and light fixtures in the bathrooms. We had an excellent experience and are extremely satisfied with the workmanship of the My Handy Craftsman team. From start to finish, they were professional, very responsive, excellent communicators, friendly, and customer-service oriented. Michael was very helpful, answered all our questions, made great recommendations, and patient with our changes. He listened to our ideas, provided insightful advice, and never recommended anything that didn’t need to be changed or upgraded. He provided us with a very fair and reasonable estimate for our project. Michael also met and coordinated with our countertop vendor to ensure there were no delays in the work flow. Once the project started, he checked in daily to ensure the project was on track, that we were satisfied, and that his staff had everything they needed. David, the assigned craftsman, was top notch, very professional, took pride in his work, and was experienced in all aspects of our project, to include tiling, wall repair, plumbing, electrical, and painting. David was also an excellent mentor and trainer to his assistant Manny. They arrived on time, gave 110%, were very precise, thorough, attentive to every detail, and cleaned up at the end of each day. David discussed options and made recommendations throughout the entire project. Our improvements look beautiful and we are still amazed every time we walk into the kitchen and bathrooms. Michael and his team exceeded our expectations and made our renovation project a very positive and stress-free experience. We will definitely use My Handy Craftsman again for future projects, and highly recommend them for your home improvement and renovation projects.

If I had to describe the My Handy Craftsman team in 3 words, they would be responsive, timely and excellent. I actually had trouble finding a company to do some finish carpentry for me in the Orlando area, but RJ was very responsive and had someone out to do the estimate within one of my call (which was after 4PM the previous day). I needed baseboard installation completed for my entire first floor, using MDF baseboard (which, from experience working with MDF, is not as easy as solid wood or finger jointed baseboard). The floorplan of my house also had a number of interior corners, and also rounded corners around the room transitions, requiring bullnose joint corners. The carpenter sent was excellent and knew exactly what he was doing. He was right on the money in terms of the amount of time needed - he painted all the baseboards, installed quickly, with no mushrooming around the trim nails, and patched over all the nail holes - making it very easy for me to touch up with the paint. He even made several extra baseboard cuts for me for some custom built-ins I'm doing later on. 10/10 would recommend their team for carpentry work.

I can always rely on My Handy Craftsman. The projects came out wonderful, and they stand by their work. This why I recommend this company to my family and friends, and is why I will use them again next time I have any need.

My Handy Craftsman recently remodeled my guest bathroom. They also prepared the kitchen for a complete renovation. We were so pleased with their work we asked them to redo our master bathroom. They did a great job. They showed up on schedule, worked quickly, and cleaned up as work progressed. Their work was perfect. The best news was the cost; it was quite reasonable and came in as quoted. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend My Handy Craftsman for any home renovation project.

Had an excellent experience with My Handy Craftsman Inc. from their initial visit to my home to completion of all the work. They were very responsive and offered advise to my concerns. Likewise, the workmanship was excellent. My family is very happy with the outcome of the work performed.

I am giving Michael Hale 2 stars for a variety of reasons, which I will explain in depth. First. we hired My Handy Craftsman to renovate our kitchen and Michael had two men working on the renovation at the beginning of the job. These two men were unreliable, saying they were coming in one day and then not showing up for two days with no communication. One day these men came in 3 hours later than their initial communication smelling of marijuana. Our house was filled with the scent of marijuana, so I took my daughter outside to escape it. When Michael found out he removed the men from the job, but the work they completed that day was shoddy and had to be re-done. Second, at the end of the job we received a revised bill for the work that included a $240 addition for installing pencil tile on the borders of the kitchen backsplash. We purchased the tile and grout ourselves and were suprised at the additional charge for labor without being informed ahead of time. Our initial proposal had already included backsplash installation, so we were charged extra at the end of the job (with no warning) because some of the backsplash was pencil tile. Third, Michael provided me with a contract included installation of 28 square feet of backsplash, so I purchased 28 square feet of backsplash and grout. My Handy Craftsman actually installed 13 square feet of backsplash, leaving me with extra tile and grout for which I had to pay. At the end of the job Michael informed me that the 28 square feet he'd written in his contract was his "typo". It was an expensive typo. Finally, the materials cost was 80 percent higher than the initial proposal despite no upgrades on our part. The initial estimate for materials was too low, which was surprising because there were no surprise problems such as rotting or termites to raise the cost of the materials. In the future we'll select a contractor who provides more accurate estimates for the work in his bid.

BUYER BEWARE!!! I see great reviews from a while back and they seem pretty good...im not sure if some thing happened since then with the ownership or what, but we did business with Michael Hale and he is a complete jerk! He completed a reno project for my in laws back in March and after the completion of the job and him collecting his final check (because my inlaws are in their mid 70's and they were afraid of him because of the way he spoke to them) there WERE and ARE several issues with the job in which they spent an excess of $12k for, he continues to say that it is not his problem and that he WILL NOT be fixing anything! I do believe that has taken advantage of the elderly and that we will now have to resolve this before a judge...however, he WILL NOT get away with this! DO NOT LET THIS GUY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU OR YOUR FAMILY!! Photos attached (see for yourself, this should not be happening in less than 6 months of his reno)

This is the most unproffesional contractor I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with! He installed laminate flooring in my 76 yr old parents home in March. When the job was being done, I personally spoke to one of the workers, and asked if he intended to put any more support under the flooring, as the floor was moving when i stood on it. He told me it was the way his boss told him to do it. After they left the home, supposedly finished, there was no threshold going into 1 room, moldings were left uncaulked, dust and dirt everywhere, an antique lamp was covered with compound and paint! My parents, being elderly decided they did not want to start any sort of confrontation, so they let it be. So here we are in sept, 6 months later, and the floor is actually seperating throughout the house, and there are dips in it due to them not repairing it where it needed more support. There are actual boards raised so high that you have to step over them or trip. I took it upon myself to call the owner Michael Hale, and after explaining who I was, and why I was calling, his response was "we dont do "s***** work!" I explained I would like to meet with him to show him the pictures I had taken, and he told me to email them to him. I agreed, and asked when I could expect a response, he told me he would look when he had time, so again I asked, when might that be? And he said If you are going to ask the same question again, I will hang up! Of course I said I needed a time, and he hung up! Today I had 2 contractors at my parents house to take a look, and BOTH were quite clear when they said it was the worst flooring job they had ever seen, no felt vapor barrier, and definitely not structurally sound, yet the Scope of work clearly says inspect and inform homeowners of any issues with the subfloor, which they would have of course had repaired! So he found an elderly couple he felt he could make some quick money by just slapping the floor in any old way, and now that he has been shown pictures and has received phone calls about it, his response is to swear and hang up. Beware!! Crime against the elderly, crap work, and a crap attitude!

Michael and team were incredible. We have been calling them to do several things around the house. No matter what job we have, Michael and team get it done and they always do a fantastic job. We wanted to install a huge chandelier and many different electrical companies gave us very high quotes. Michael and team gave us a reasonable quote and did a tremendous job putting it up. They also installed a tile wall in our bedroom which looks incredible. They are very professional, prompt and very dependable. I am so glad we found them. I will recommend them very very highly.

They did a terrific job. Their employee always arrived on schedule. He took his time and did things right. His work was excellent; supervised by the project coordinator. Everything was complete when the job was finished. I would not hire anyone else. In fact, I'm planning on having them remodel my bathroom.

We needed to remove our pool and re-build a paver patio in the backyard. Jeff showed up to discuss the estimate and we explained we wanted everything taken care of from A-Z meaning they'd be responsible for getting the permit, removing the fence, removing the pool, working with the City on the requirements for a pool demo, and then rebuilding the paver patio, replacing a bunch of sod and irrigation and then rebuilding the fence, plus hauling away all the leftover stuff. They took care of everything and did a great job. I would definitely hire them again. Very nice, professional, and we could tell they knew what they were doing.

The gentleman arrived right on time and got right to work to repair 4 holes in the drywall from an electrician's work. He took exactly 3 hours--he worked neatly and cleaned up!

Great job! He arrived on time and was very professional. He answered my questions patiently and explained the work clearly. It was a little more pricier than other companies. But it was a job well done and worth it! I would hire again.

The first worker they sent did not show up - sick I was told. The second worker came a week later and did an excellent repair job using PVC which will hold up much better than wood.
