Had a leaking gate valve on the pool pump on rental property. I, the home owner just happened to be at the property when he arrived, however there was no firm appointment just "some time today". When the service person arrived he asked who I was and I offered to show him the pool. He said he would walk around the back and see it. I met him at the back yard and he was somewhat hostile. When making the appointment they never asked what kind of pool it was. (A semi in ground pool due to the slope of the back yard could not have an entirely in ground pool installed.) He was sputtering about the fact that he does not work on this type of pool. Then he said he could not find the pump. I pointed to the well house under the decking and told him it was there. I helped him open the door to the pump and held it up while he berated the type of installation of the pump house and that the pump should have been put above the ground in plain site instead of enclosed. Then he said that he could not see a leak, and I pointed to the leaking gate valve and said there it is. He leaned over and said he did not want to crawl in to that space and it should have been put in plain site where it would be easier to work on. (The space is completely cinder blocked and it was not like he would have had to crawl in the dirt or anything, and there has always been plenty of space for any other serviceman to work in there.)
At this point because I wanted to hear no more complaints, I asked if he was going to do the job and he said, "Call someone else". He then dropped the pump house door on me and took off across the yard for his truck complaining the whole time.
