"Just when I was giving up hope of finding an insulation expert I found A to Z Insulation on home advisor. Three days after calling, the attic over garage is professionally insulated. They were on time, prepared the area to catch overspill and finished the job without taking a break. No job is to big or small for them. A professional expert. Stop looking and call them for an estimate. GOOD PRICE FOR A GREAT JOB!"

"Insulation Commandos did a good job with the attic insulation; however a VERY POOR job with the attic pull down ladder. The ladder did not fit, and the molding around the attic opening was destroyed. They promised to return to repair and fix the mess they left. However after waiting a week to hear from them I called and left messages as well as sent texts - I WAS IGNORED & they actually blocked all my attempts to reach them."

"Sidney and Raphael were great! They were able to come out very quickly and explain everything, including pictures of before and after (since I’m not getting in the attic). We are feeling better already and have yet to see if the electricity bill goes down but air feels stronger and cooler already."

Drywall Insulation FAQs, answered by experts

Drywall tape is made of paper, while drywall mesh is made of fiberglass or metal. Drywall mesh patches are suitable for repairing small holes in drywall, while paper drywall tape holds a crease better for corners. You need joint compound to adhere drywall tape to the wall, while mesh patches may be self-adhesive.

A local drywall contractor can texture your drywall for you. Drywall contractors are a better choice than general handy people because the contractors have a lot of experience working with drywall mud. The process is somewhat of an art thanks to the complexity of working with the mud, so call in a drywall pro who knows what they’re doing.

While textured walls can elevate a space in many ways, there are a couple of downsides to consider. Namely, they’re hard to clean, and some textures fall out of fashion quickly. Make sure to consider all your options to find one you truly love before diving in.

It is more difficult to drywall a ceiling than it is to drywall a wall, but not so hard that DIYers can’t tackle it. One of the main issues with hanging drywall on your ceiling is getting it into place. Drywall isn’t light so, if you are hanging full drywall panels, you will need at least two (it’s better with more) people to hold the panel while you drill it into the ceiling as a single piece can weigh between 40 and 60 pounds and will need to be held in place for up to 10 minutes.

Brick and stucco are a lot more different. You must use picture hanging clips designed for brick walls, or use a plaster rail system with adjustable hooks. Any other type of hanging hardware will cause damage to the bricks behind. You won’t be able to really use nails, either, because they’re not strong enough to go into the bricks.
