The original installation seemed to go OK but we later found out about multiple issues. In less than two months the system was not working and when they came back out to evaluate it they said it had frozen up and that there was nothing wrong with it. We had just worked it too hard. We just needed to turn it off for a couple of hours. This happened about once a week for several weeks with no resolution.
We finally called someone else to come look at it and they identified multiple problems with the installation. I insisted that our home warranty company send out another company and they did. They too found multiple issues with the installation and repaired the system.

I purchased a home in August of 2013 and a home warranty was included in the sale. In April my air conditioner was having problems and the warranty company sent IES HVAC from Milton. The A coil in the inside unit had a leak and he ordered a new one. Before the A coil was installed the warranty company transferred the job to Air Care. Martin Gaillard and his son David came out the same day they received the job.

The coil box with the A coil sits on top of the furnace. The new coil box was about 6 inches taller than the old one and, because I had a tall gas furnace, there was no way to fit the coil box through the door opening. I had two choices, rip out the wall above the door or replace the furnace with a shorter model. The unit was 22 years old so I opted to replace the furnace. Martin Gaillard said there would be some duct work to match the new furnace and coil box the existing duct work. He said he would try to get the warranty company to cover some of that cost. He said this knowing that duct work is specifically not covered by the warranty company.

Air Care installed a Bryant 310AA furnace on May 14th. The expansion valve on the new A coil was designed for R410A Freon and my old system used R22 Freon so Air Care had to replace the expansion valve. When they brought the unit in the house I heard Martin tell his son, David, to set the AC fan on high.

By federal law the Freon must be recovered and not released to the atmosphere. When Martin Gaillard opened the system he did not recover the Freon. When I asked him why he said the Schrader valve was stuck and he could not recover it. However, there are two Schrader valves, one on the high side and one on the low side. I’m not sure if he could have recovered the Freon using the other Schrader valve or not. He did replace the low side valve before he vacuumed the system and added new R22 Freon.

In June a relay in the outside unit had to be replaced and about two weeks later the compressor failed in the outside unit failed. Bill from Tempacure in Niceville came out for both problems. When Bill replaced the relay I told him that Air Care had set the fan in the inside unit to run on high when the AC was running. He said that was wrong. When the fan runs on high the humidity is not efficiently removed from the air.

Tempacure installed a new Bryant outside AC unit. The newer AC systems use R410A Freon so the expansion valve in the A coil had to be replaced with an R410A compatible valve. Tempacure ordered a new valve and because I had no AC they went ahead and installed the new outside unit and charged it with R22 Freon.

When the new expansion valve came in Tempacure came back out. They recovered the R22 Freon and when the technician accessed the A coil he found that Air Care did not tape the expansion valve sensor bulb they installed in May. The sensor bulb reads the temperature of the supply line from the outside AC unit to the A coil. It should be clamped and taped with a special insulating tape. Air Care clamped the sensor bulb to the supply line but did not tape it.

I CALLED, THEY CAME OUT THE SAME DAY AND INSPECTED THE EXISTING UNIT. AIR CARE SERVICES SHOWED ME WHERE THE UNIT HAD FAILED, TEMPORARILY FIXED AND ARRANGED TO INSTALL THE NEW UNIT 48 HOURS LATER. AIR CARE ARRIVED IN THE MORNING AND INSTALLED THE UNIT IN LESS THAN TWO HOURS. WE EXPERIENCED NO INCONVENIENCE OR DISCOMFORT. THEY CARRIED THE REMAINS AWAY TO BE CORRECTLY DISPOSED OF.
THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME I HAVE WORKED WITH AIR CARE. THE SENIOR MAN ON THE JOB, MARTIN, HAS PERFORMED TERRIFIC WORK FOR ME AND MY CUSTOMERS FOR SEVERAL YEARS RUNNING. I REALLY APPRECIATE WORKING WITH SUCH PROACTIVE PROFESSIONALS.

Contacted them the night prior and they came first thing the next morning. David and Martin were great, they replaced the mangled tubing, inline filter, and recharged the system all in under 40 mins. Excellent experience, we'd definitely do business with them again.

He came out and blew out the line so it would stop leaking, then came the next day to fix the coils. It went well

I left an email message on the Air Care website. It was past closing time on the 2nd of August. First thing the morning of Aug 3rd I got a call from Air Care and we arranged a time for them to come to the house. Right before they headed to the house they called to make sure I was there and it was okay to come. He came and checked the unit. It was a dead capacitor in the fan on the unit. He had a replacement on the truck and it took him all of about 20 minutes for the whole visit. Unit is running fine now.
