"We had a pretty minor repair needed on our soffits and it’s often hard to get someone to come out for a small project. Nick called back within an hour, gave us an incredibly reasonable quote from the picture I sent him, came out the next day to do the repairs, and did more than we asked. We’ve already hired him for more projects. Highly recommend him!!"

"Santhos Home Repair does an outstanding job! He fixed our damaged wall following a water leak including painting, insulation, baseboard repair, and adding orange peel texture. He is courteous and so respectful. We contacted him late in the evening and he showed up the next morning to get everything back in excellent condition. We will definitely use him in the future and highly recommend him!"

Customers say: Quick response

"Jamal & Winston Did The Repair flawlessly. Jamal did the texturing & painting to perfection. Both men were courteous & professional. Jamal went above & beyond by washing the windows involved & helped put the draperies back up. I wouldn't hesitate to hire this company again & will gladly recommend them to others. Thank you!"

Wall Repair questions, answered by experts

Poured concrete is often the cheapest material for a retaining wall, costing around $6 to $8 per square foot. Other budget-friendly options include vinyl and landscaping timbers, which range from $10 to $15 per square foot; landscaping timbers are particularly well-suited for DIY projects. Untreated timber and railroad ties are a step up in price, starting at $15 to $25 per square foot. Natural stones can also be a cost-effective choice if you can source them from your own property, but they can be expensive to purchase. High-end materials like steel are typically the most expensive but offer superior durability and aesthetics.

Failure to compact the soil during construction is the most common cause of leaning retaining walls. In addition, poor drainage can lead to excessive water pressure behind a retaining wall, pushing against it until it begins to move forward away from the soil it is holding back.

Railroad ties can be good for retaining walls, but it depends on the area. They have a desirable rustic look and are durable. The problem is they’re treated with creosote, a preservative the EPA says poses a risk to humans and wildlife. Over time, the preservative seeps out of the wood and into the ground. Many areas have banned the use of creosote-treated wood on residential properties. If your area does allow it, never use railroad ties near an edible garden or drinking water source. Instead, use wood that’s treated with an EPA-approved preservative or a wood-alternative composite material.

Most retaining wall installations can be finished in one to three weeks, but the timeline varies based on factors like wall size and material. The local climate and major weather events, such as storms or flooding, can also extend the project's timeline, as can any holds ups in the permitting process.

Yes, including patterns, finishes, and plant integration for aesthetic enhancement.
