"We used One Of A Kind Carpenter for a full kitchen remodel. Quality was excellent for a reasonable price. We went from a house with separate rooms for dining room, kitchen, living room, etc.. to a big beautiful open floorplan. We gained soo much room and it looks great! We are planning another project as I type this. Looking forward to the next project!"

"A pipe inside a bathroom wall in my house broke and two bedrooms and the bathroom ended up flooded. A restoration company came to the rescue leaving my house dry and mold free but in very poor conditions. Stephan and his partner did the reconstruction work and installed tile in two rooms, removed, replaced and disposed of a moldy cabinet, removed and replaced the baseboard trim and patched and fixed 4 big holes in my walls. They came early and on time each day, carefully cleared all the furniture from the rooms, clean after they were done and disposed of all construction waste daily. They worked fast and were curteous and considerate of our needs. They also returned all furniture back to it's original place before finishing the job and basically took care of everything we needed for a fair price. I'm having a baby in two weeks and time was of the essence. Fl Construction worked hard and managed to return my house to normal conditions in less than a week. We are very happy with their work and so will you. I highly recommend them. returned all the furniture back to the rooms and basically took care"

"John is really a good business owner. The crew is neat and cleaning up the site after workday. My roof is steep and a lot of details needed to pay attention in order to finish it right. He did just that and more. He follows up with the job with happy smiles until my satisfaction. I wish that other contractors could be like him then life would be a lot better. Thanks John."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

It can take anywhere from a few days to several months to draw up architectural plans, depending on the complexity of your project. Architectural plans are highly detailed documents that take time to complete, and any changes or alterations can significantly extend how long they take.

Craftsman houses’ sustained popularity is likely due to their timelessly beautiful design and simplicity. To this day, they hold true to the power of hard work and refined craftsmanship and how that’s all you need to create a beautiful home.

How long it takes to build an in-law suite will vary by type. The time it takes to build an addition will typically be less than for completely new construction. Expect to spend about two months if you convert a basement, attic, or other existing room in your home. New structures can take up to five months, plus up to two months to receive the required permits.

The early stages of building a house are harder than the later stages; laying the foundation and framing the house are two of the most challenging steps. However, it varies for everyone. Some people have difficulty installing HVAC, plumbing, and electricity, while others find it harder to plan the house and secure the necessary permits.

Italianate architecture is a reinterpretation of Renaissance styles, combining elements of Italian farmhouses and villas with Victorian materials and construction. This home style emerged in the Victorian era, gaining popularity in the U.S. in the mid-to late-1800s. The style came about in response to what many then viewed as the too-rigid and stuffy Classical style designs.
