the project took much longer than expected. The shower was not installed correctly and the plumbing leaks into the ceiling below. At first they promised to send a plumber out to correct the problem, which they never did. After not keeping the promise, they simply stopped returning my phone calls. They were very nice people and the bathroom looked great after completed. However, when the leaks began they know longer cared about me. Its very disappointing especially since I used them for 2 projects (the other was a tile project which really turned out beautifully)

Mac and his team did a great job on our flooring, baseboards, patio door installation and carpet stretching. They were very flexible with responding to my last-minute requests for additional work to be done. Each and every person working on the house was clean and professional and did a very nice job.

The flooring installation was fine, the issue is the problem that came after. Something happened when they came to install the floors which damaged the wiring in our master bedroom. the closet light an the outlets are not working. it has been almost a year since the initial installation and they've been giving me the run around ever since, i finally complained to the BBB at the end of last year and Lynn contacted me and was supposed to arrange an electrician to came by but after several calls and telling me to wait after the new year STILL no one ever came. I cannot recommend this company, only hire if you are willing to take their unprofessionalism. sadly, this problem really put a dent to what would have been a great experience. To Altamonte Carpet and Tile, if you'd like me to revise my review please contact me with a specific time of when the electrician will come to fix the issue otherwise it will remain here. thanks!

The quality of the physical structure was excellent, however, I felt they were completely unorganized and unprofessional. I had to call them more often than they called me to schedule. I had to reorder thru them certain items, multiple times. I kept getting pushback on some of the items that were on the big deal and... it was extremely unorganized. They were very friendly, but extremely unorganized, very hard to get in touch with and I was the one that had to tell them their mistakes. It was more of a headache to get to the completed item. The completion is fantastic, but the process getting there was a nightmare.

Terrible experience for us. Severe up- and over-charging, THREATS TO LIEN OUR HOUSE despite our pre-payment of EVERYTHING and tons of poor quality work. It started as a $1995 Angie's List deal, promised to be done in 3 days with a worst case invoice of less than $4100. We pre-paid entire invoice to expedite the project. It went haywire from the start, crews no showed, contractor was difficult to reach, shoddy work had to be re-done multiple times, plumber demolished floor pan for no reason (except to pad the bill), plumbing leaked and required a 2nd plumber, project was not finished after three weeks and 15 work days, had to hire different contractor to finish. Despite our TOTAL PRE-PAYMENT we were THREATENED WITH LIENS by contractor who had repeatedly sent us an invoice requiring a total of $5700 ! ... $1995 Special with a $4100 "worst case" invoice ends up with a $5700 required total payment ! Final invoice included over $600 in dump/tax charges. They stuck to the $5700 total until credit card company agreed with my complaint and started processing a refund. Ultimately resolved complaint through Angie's List and credit card complaint system. Paid $3600 just to be done with it, but honestly feel like they deserved NOTHING for this HORRIBLE PROJECT.

The first day, I visited the shop to view samples. The deal included three choices of granite countertops, but he kept pointing me in different directions, seemingly unsure of what was actually included in the deal. It was the same situation with the colors of the wood. We wound up having to pick colors twice, because he apparently changed his mind again about what was included. It was a bit off-putting, feeling like he didn't even know what was included in his own deal. He wanted to charge me for standard knobs, while the deal specifically stated that standard knobs were included with the cabinets. Once we brought it to his attention, he hand-wrote "no charge for 17 knobs" on the invoice. (Also, he hand-wrote "no charge for lighter color of granite," even though we had seemingly already settled the granite debate. That seemed very curious.) The deal also said that it included a sink "plus faucet". When he came, he didn't have a faucet. He argued with me that it wasn't included, until I showed him the very clear language on the deal and he had the plumber go buy one. He was supposed to come over November 2nd to attach the dishwasher to the cabinets, but he never showed up or called. (There were a couple of other days earlier on in the project that I had taken off work, when he also didn't show up. It took repeated phone calls and hours of waiting to even find out he wasn't going to come, let alone reschedule.) He showed up unannounced on November 3rd to come out and do it. When he did, I was changing a diaper when he was wrapping up (I watch my nephews on Wednesdays, and had rescheduled that to Thursday so they weren't here for the appointment that he missed), so he left. He installed the dishwasher crooked, leaving it misaligned with the cabinets. I sent a text and asked him to come and fix it to my satisfaction, and he told me to do it myself. I was shocked, to say the least, that someone would tell me to fix their mistake, but I was also upset with myself for not catching it before he left. After all of this, we now have a discrepancy with the invoice. I agreed to pay an additional $480.09 for labor and parts for some electrical relocating. That was all okay. The issue is that since I paid for the main package through Angie's list, a discount of $1,000 was included on my invoice. I paid the rest of what I was responsible for, and thought everything was done. He came back and told me that the discount on the invoice was a mistake, and that I still owed him $1,000. I firmly disagree. He's offered to knock it down to $650, but I still don't believe that to be fair based on how I was sold on the job. This experience has been very emotionally confusing. Overall, I'm mostly pretty satisfied with the product, but the process and integrity of these guys has made me feel disillusioned and sad. I'm happy that I've got a new kitchen that I mostly enjoy, but I'm far more happy with the fact that it's finally over. I wouldn't dream of doing this again unless I had everything iron-clad in writing, and I would advise anyone else to do the same. This was the first large project I've ever had completed, and it wasn't a very positive experience. Moving forward, I'll be proceeding very cautiously.

You had a little more work that needed to be done.And I was fair with you.And when it came to the final bill for the extra work we did and ok'd by you. You refused to pay. Took a little longer then expected but not providers fault. Manufacturer failed to deliver. Once down we had a few problems with the transition strips which were adequately remedied. Robert (owner) was the best to work with and followed through at all stages.

The tearout & install went pretty good, took a little longer than I thought the installer that come out 2 or 3 times did a good job & even the few things I asked to do he took care of it above and beyond.

The bathroom shower re-tile was coordinated from two hours away and they were so accommodating. Everyone I dealt with was courteous and helpful. The finished job was fantastic and what a great clean up job. I would highly recommend them.

Oscar and his installation team did a real professional job from start to finish. This job covered 4 full days of week. Being an A/C contractor I know what real professional are & do. I would recommend them to anyone need tile & carpet work done.

Worst experience of my life. Owner was completely unprofessional getting into a verbal altercation in my own home storming out and taking his crew with him and leaving us with a half completed tile job. Caught him in multiple lies including pricing, colors and warranty. Delayed the warranty fix for the grout that changed colors so much that his business closed down. Would just like anyone considering them to know they are the shadiest group on individuals I know, they did a horrible job and left us with discolored grout throughout our entire house. I do not recommend this company at all.

"Dear Brett.PLEASE READ THIS RESPONSE BEFORE PASSING JUDGEMENT>>>>>>> I knew this was coming from you.You gave my guys such a hard time and they felt extremely mistreated.You badgered them from the time they arrived until the time they left.That is why I told them to pack up.The next day you and I resolved everything and my workers returned to work.You picked an almost black tile which showed everything.I at my own expense rented a buffer machine and grout haze remover,which was an added cost of almost 400.00.Then you complained about the grout you picked.I brought out a cleaning product which did not work as well as I would have hoped.I then sent the manufacturers representative to help me resolved the grout issue.He had it tested and found that the grout was not defective. I then paid for an independent inspector at my cost of 250.00 to try and find why your grout was slightly less dark than what it should be.The conclusion of that report was that your well water had excessive amount of iron in the water which caused your grout to discolor.His recommendation was to stain the grout.You chose a color and I paid almost 300.00 and you decided after I already purchased it that you did not like it and preferred another color.Again another 300.00. Were does it all end? I finally decided that I have done all I can do.I allowed you to keep the 900.00 you owed me and gave you the stain.My total cost for this job cost me 2150.00.The whole problem of this job is you were never happy of the selection you made on the tile and the grout ( which I warned you about ahead of time.Where you came up with the statement that I am out of business because of you is completely false .In fact it is a down right lie.What you really wanted me to do was give you a whole new floor and tried to push me in that direction,all because you did not like your selection after it was installed.I have been in business 16 years and know when I am being hustled.I HOPE ALL THAT SEE THIS>>>READ THIS CAREFULLY>>>>AND CAN SEE THAT A WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND>>>>> Robert"

job was promised for 4 days. took 10 days. vanity did not cover 1inch strip on face of vanity. door jamb gouged by vanity install. shower has cracked tile which was grouted over. White powder leaking from fabricated bench in shower? Is it grout?

"Dear [Member Name Removed] Yes I admit there were some challenges in a mobile home.A plastic shower had to be removed and and entire floor panhad to be built with plywood and durock,This way you would not have such a big stepover.I did not charge you for the plywood.And did not charge you for the extra labor.This was our agreement that even though this is considered unforseen prep work and additional charges would apply and your job could take longer.We agreed on a good angie's list review.So this is your idea of a good angie's list review.This is so dishonest on your part.We walked that entire job with you before we left and you were completely happy with the outcome. We began rehabbing a rental house and I used Angie's list to get recommendations on providers to re-tile kitchen, bathrooms, and porch, lay laminate in LR, DR, Hall, install granite in kitchen and other similar jobs. I contacted no less than 5 providers with the highest scores for each job. Altamonte tile is run by Robert and his sister.and they responded that they could handle the tile, laminate, granite and kitchen cabinets. I visited and got bids from multiple providers including Altamonte Tile.
Robert had good suggestions, good prices and was willing to work within my budget and time schedule (I wanted the tile done early in the rehabbing process and the carpet done last in the whole process).. I contracted with him for the tile, laminate. carpet and granite (my grandson and I installed the kitchen cabinets.).
He and his sister were great at communications, keeping us posted as product came in and work progressed.
There are 2 areas I would be cognizant of. The first is the measurements. I know you always order extra flooring because of the cutting. However, we ended up with an additional 64 square feet of laminate after it was installed, and enough door transition molding to do an additional 6 doors. However, the prices were low enough that I still came in under budget.
The 2nd area is the installers. Altamonte Tile contracts with the installers and the installer told me there wasn't enough tile to do the 2 kitchen pantries on a slant like the rest of the kitchen and porch. Turns out there was MORE than enough tile but the installer had a big job starting that needed his men.
In spite of the installers, the prices were much less than other providers and we will be getting additional estimates from them again this summer as we rehab another house.

Robert was right on time for the appointment. He assessed what needed to be done but unfortunately couldn't tell how much damage had been done to the subfloor until after the repair started. He kept me informed all the way, providing before and after pictures as the job progressed. I couldn't be happier with his companies service and will definitely use them again if the need arises.

Robert was terrific before, during and after the installation. He allowed for the job to be done in two phases, while housing the tile in his warehouse. When there were hiccups with the job, he solved them timely and to our satisfaction. The end product was incredible and we are ecstatic about the way it came out.

Oscars crew worked day and night and it was such a pleasure to have them here everyday. .The granite broke so I totally understood
a delay. Granite guys get here on I believe on the 8th. Then The original crew comes back! To install lights plumbing etc. this is where everything goes very bad! Lights not centered properly tried to fix but made it worse! I purchased all faucets & lights back in November. I only to this day I have only one light and one working sink. The guy that normally does their tile work left after Thanksgiving so my commode area looks like it was fixed with silly putty. And there texture guy left town also. Parts of house look good others are shocking the Owner Robert Mello came out on I believe on the 9th said "the walls look like crap". I'll get my handyman out this week to fix and get all the punch work done. Tic Tock. Owner again promised he would be here 7am today Sunday. Still no call no I'm sorry and no handyman. I really truly cared for this group. They were nice until they all got paid. Then nothing I will need hire a crew to finish unless I can get Oscar to come back. Very kind but moved on to another job! I need my home back but I also am so sad as I really liked these guys and girl. No One Shows or Calls. It's 11:30 and he was to be here at 7am. Oh and the owner tells me I have ONE s*** at getting everything done! Can you imagine the rudeness like I did the work ? Well don't have to worry about that as their not coming back. I need to find someone else unless Angies List can light a fire under them. Merry Christmas
Robert finally sent out his handyman. Very nice guy, but he was not told how awful the previous work was. And per Robert the owner he had only ONE day to finish. I felt so bad for him! He did not have time to finish by night time I had ice packs on his head )-; from all the mistakes he had to fix! Even at that he could not give me Water in one of my sinks to date I still don't have water )-; Roberts sister told me too bad it's on me! I called a plumber out and now I have to pay more money to have them run piping from working sink to second sink. All of this was known Before work even started. Everyone new my house was replumbed and I was paying extra for the second sink. But now Holes need to b drilled thru my new cabinets to hook the second sink. So many things are still wrong but I will live with. Such as scratches on the granite, walls that look like chicken pox. I was told Christian there wall guy was an a** and oh well! I have nails coming thru drawers in the new cabinets but never even bothered Robert about this. And Part of this work is an insurance claim! Robert told me just b4 Xmas he would send me an itemized bill on Monday the 28th and No sooner well it's the 30th and no bill?? All I have is one bill for $8500 and a yellow sheet of paper with a list of things on them but just a total of $5500. I paid about $14,000. He knows I need it itemized as granite screens etc are not part of claim. I need to get reimbursed can you please have him send out a complete list of charges. Thank you as u can imagine Robert dispizes me for this. But how is this my fault. If they lost workers they should have sent me to someone else.

"Dear Member One of the reasons things took longer was of the thanksgiving day weekend.However what you failed to mention was all the add-ons which you requested were not on the contract.Not counting all the work my installers did for free,because in the beginning you started out so nice and they just wanted to help.What changed here was your attitude towards my guys that they did not want to pick up the phone anymore,because you were calling them every night late hours ( I have texts to prove this ) I relunctantly went to your home to see your concerns and agreed that somethings could be done better.And thought it best to send out my handyman.Because my installers were not going back due to your constant barrage of cell calls and texts.My handyman agreed to come out on sunday for you,yes he was a little late but stayed all day to please you and get things tightened up for you.You wrote this before he even got there.Not fair.I did not want to do this job in the first place,after you told me that you kicked out the last crew.But you begged me to do this for you> I took this job because you were an Angie's List customer.And this is how you repay me with a C.Now that my handyman has gone out on sunday and monday and took care of everything for you.I think it is only fair to change this review.Oh yeah one more thing you said that we caulked around your toilet,,all we did was your walls,your floors were already down prior to us installing your shower.So that was not our caulking.I am going to challenge this review with Angie's List. By the way the same installer that you rated C is the same installer that just received all A"s on the last four reviews. Robert"

We contacted Tile & Carpet of Altamonte, to install some new laminate flooring. We have a unique living area connected to the kitchen, and really needed a Pro to be sure we had Good transitions from area to area, as well as, one level to the other.
The installers Really did a Great Job of making a nice tight & clean install that made it easy for us to install our moldings / trim etc.......... The are very capable of doing trim etc......but we were in the middle of an extensive remodel, and other things needed to be done before trim. Overall, we are REAL Pleased, and if this job is an indicator of their level of care and note for detail, we will call on them again when it is time to remodel our master bathroom.

When searching for options we reviewed several Angies list, Google, and Yelp reviews, and gathered references from family, Tile and Carpet of Altamonte ranked highly across all so we stopped by the store and met owner Robert Mello. Robert patiently explained and educated us on the options that compliment our home layout, personally came out to take measurements and offered a very competitive price. Throughout the shopping process Robert is very friendly and sincere.
Robert's team did a great job, the work was completed on time and looks great. Our home had older textured white tile throughout most of the bottom floor, kitchen, and half bath, laminate in one bedroom, and carpeting on the stairs and upper rooms. The team, led by Oscar removed the old tile (lots of hard work), laminate, and carpeting and installed new tile and carpeting. They did a great job removing and replacing baseboard and trimmed a door for proper fit with the new flooring.
During the installation Oscar recommended an alternate tile layout pattern that looks great, the carpet is a heavy berber with great padding, requiring much detailed work, came out looking great.
We couldn't be happier, our daughter is buying a home and we've pointed her to Robert for flooring and recommend Robert, Oscar, and Tile and Carpet of Altamonte highly.
