"I had a large area in my front yard that I treated for fungus every year with various degrees of success. I finally decided to take care of it. I called Creative and Dan came over and we discussed ways to deal with it. BTW, Dan is very personable fellow, a joy to converse with. In the end we removed the suspect grass and what was underneath it, filled it with new soil and sodded it with new St. Augustein. The crew did a nice job and I'm glad I went with Creative. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!"

"I had a great experience with this company. I originally found them on Facebook, and after a short online conversation they were out quickly to take a look at the project. I received a quote within just a few days and was scheduled shortly after that, which I really appreciated. They showed up on time and got right to work. The job was not small. I needed a large amount of rock removed from the garden beds, along with a serious amount of sod and debris cleared out to make room for a fresh new garden space. They handled everything efficiently and professionally. What impressed me most was how well they cleaned up once the work was finished. The area was neat, organized, and ready to go. They even added a bit of design to the space, which made the finished result look even better than I expected. Would hire again!"

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

Late August, September, and mid-October are the ideal months for planting a young tree. However, the best time to plant a tree ultimately depends on when the weather transitions to fall-like conditions and eventually winter frost. As long as the hottest days of summer have passed and the ground hasn’t frozen yet, you can still successfully plant trees.

Surface-level tree roots might only pose a small threat, such as being a tripping hazard or obstacle when you mow your lawn. But if mature tree roots start growing in the direction of your home’s foundation or plumbing system, it could be a real problem. Cutting small tree roots out before they grow too large can keep your home safe without removing the whole tree.

Determining how many boulders you’ll need for your landscaping project depends on the area you need to cover and how big each boulder is. First, you’ll need to determine how big of an area you want covered, then divide that by the base surface area of the boulders. A landscape professional can help you determine how many boulders will be right for your project.

Don’t worry if there’s a gap between cutting and planting an ideal branch. You can still cut the perfect branch when you see it. If you can’t get it in a pot or water right away, put it in a zip-top bag in the refrigerator. When you’re ready to finish the process, make a fresh cut.

It depends. Smaller, younger trees take longer to mature, but they're more resilient, their roots don't get as damaged during transplanting, and they recover faster. Plus, they're much more affordable to plant, and it's possible to DIY the planting.

On the other hand, mature trees produce fruit faster and provide more shade and privacy immediately. Ideally, a small or medium tree is the better choice if you can wait a few years for it to mature. But if you need immediate maturity, a larger tree is the only option.
