"The crew was delayed a day at another job, but once the mulch was delivered everything was completed in one and one-half days. They did a great job and did everything they said they would do. The job required a lot of mulch and looks great. We are already receiving compliments from our neighbors."

"Once we hired this company our experience with him was good. He was on time and he did the work we requested. A few days after installation we noticed that the was a gap and the water was once again pooling in our garden beds pushing out our mulch which is why we decided to purchase gutters anyway. We spoke to him and explained the issue, he gave us a day he'd come by to fix the issue. He never showed up and he will not respond to our calls or text. It is very disappointing and unprofessional that he is not following up on his work. It was a little more then a week when we noticed the issue. I'm concerned about the issues we will in the future. At this point I would NOT recommend him to anyone due to his lack of following up to assure his customer is satisfied with the work."

"1000% Perfection!!!!! whole house re piped Let me start out by saying I am not easily impressed. My husband and I were without water in our newly bought home for a week, after calling several companies we were let down and left again without any running water to our home. I happened to do another search for a plumbing company and expected the same let down but, Duck Duck Rooter came through. Sean, came down, did a assessment and explained to me every detail that was needed and that would take place. Sean, assembled a team which was Mike & Enoch and we could not have asked for a better team. They went above and beyond, extremely knowledgeable, polite and respectful. Mike & Enoch, took extreme care not to let my beloved cats out while going in and out, they kept their work areas clean and made sure not to destroy or make a mess of my house. Mike & Enoch, treated me and my home with respect which I appreciate more than anything. They are welcomed at our house anytime when they are in t"

Basement Waterproofing questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can enclose your crawl space. Enclosing your crawl space can promote energy efficiency and reduce the risks of pests and mold by limiting factors like humidity. It can also reduce heat loss, which is why doing so for the winter can make your home more comfortable.

The best basement waterproofing method depends on the specific issue causing the water intrusion. For minor problems, simple solutions like installing a properly functioning gutter system to direct runoff away and grading the soil to slope away from your foundation can be effective.

If you have more significant water problems, the solution will need to be more robust:

  • For standing water on the basement floor, a floor drain or a sump pump system may be the best solution.

  • For water pooling around the foundation, installing an exterior French drain can intercept water before it reaches the basement walls.

Other effective waterproofing methods, which can be used depending on your home's specific needs, climate, and soil type, include sealing the interior walls, landscape alteration, installing interior drainage systems, and using a dehumidification system to control moisture levels.

Preventing future basement flooding often involves installing sump pumps, improving drainage, sealing foundation cracks, and maintaining gutters. Costs vary, but preventive measures can range from a few hundred to several thousand dollars, depending on the solutions chosen. Investing in prevention can save you money on future flooded basement cleanup costs and repairs.

No, your basement dehumidifier doesn’t need to be on 24/7. While it’s an excellent tool for tackling damp, musty air, especially in humid seasons, leaving it running nonstop can backfire. Over-drying the space can mess with your sinuses, warp wood, and even crack certain materials. Instead, only use your humidifier when moisture levels rise above 50%, and then give it a break when the humidity levels drop.

Yes, water and water vapor can seep through cracks in your basement floor, which means you should address all basement floor cracks, even if they don’t indicate structural issues. Sealing settling cracks and shrinkage cracks is a good idea to keep water and moisture outside where it belongs. Doing so can improve your indoor air quality, reduce the risk of mold growth, make your home more comfortable, and help prevent pest infestation.
