"I would allow Quality Craftsmen to remodel my entire house if I could. There financing option were reasonable and affordable. Their attention to detail was magnificent. The management (Keller) and (Linus, Dennis) employers were awesome and compassionate. They worked around my schedule and made sure I was satisfied. Everything they did regardless if it was a major issue or minor hiccup they communicated and provided me choices. They allowed me to choose what I wanted and nothing was forced. I would recommend them for any home improvement. THEY ARE AWESOME!!!"

"Amauri and his helper were amazing. Not only did he give me a good deal on my kitchen cabinets, but he went above and beyond installing and helping me replace broken tiles on my floor. He can do it all as he has extensive knowledge about fixing things! He saved me the headache of having to find another guy to do other jobs. He showed up with a positive attitude and got to work immediately. He knows his stuff and wants to help. It doesn’t seem like a job for him as it’s clear he enjoys what he does! I will be sure to use him again for my next rental property project. With all the area handyman scams etc, he is the real deal. You don’t have to worry when you hire him. He keeps his word and my kitchen is beautiful. . Thanks again Amauri!"

Pre Made Cabinets questions, answered by experts

Custom cabinets made from solid wood are the most durable, lasting 20 to 50 years with proper maintenance. In comparison, prefabricated cabinets have a lifespan nearly half as long. The longevity of any cabinet depends on factors like upkeep, the amount of heat and moisture in the home, and general wear and tear. Popular hardwood options for long-lasting cabinets include oak, cherry, maple, walnut, and hickory. While these materials are a worthwhile investment for those planning to stay in their home for decades, their durability comes at a higher price compared to alternatives like furniture board, laminate, and plywood. The average cost for solid wood cabinets ranges from $100 to $1,200 per linear foot.

Using a shim or another type of self-leveling feet on the bottom edge of your cabinet bases will help to level them out if you’re installing them on a less-than-level surface. To make this process easier, you can add your shims before attaching the bases to your cabinets while they’re still light and easy to move around.

Costs range from $3,000 to $8,000, depending on the material, design, and number of cabinets.

There are some tips when hiring a cabinet installer that’ll help prepare you to create a new space. When installing new cabinets, keep the following in mind:

  • Hire the same cabinet installer professional to measure, design, and install the cabinets, as opposed to jumping between companies.

  • Discuss what types of cabinets the installer offers, including stock, semi-custom, and custom, to give yourself options.

  • Discuss financing options with your installer, as this project can be expensive depending on your chosen cabinets.

  • Discuss your cabinet installer’s prior experience, including asking for photos of previous projects.

As a homeowner, there are a few things you can do to prepare for your cabinet installer. Once the cabinets are ready for your home, you can do the following:

  • Ensure pets are safely in another room, out of the way of open doors and large moving objects.

  • Clear countertops for removal.

  • Tidy the floor the installers will walk through and around.

  • Prepare to have the installers in your home for the entire day, for multiple days, until the project is done. Expect to have a noisy environment, especially if they will remove old, existing cabinets.
