"I am very happy with the honesty and professionalism of this company. They were going to use the foam insulation in the bedroom, but were unable to access it. They took pictures of the attic space before and after they pumped in the spray insulation. The house is feeling cooler now as we had no insulation in the attic under a metal roof."

"The insulation that was chosen was perfect for my home. Jason explained different types for different climates and after receiving three other quotes, I was Very surprised and happy when his quote was less expensive than the others. They were very knowledgeable and did.an amazing job! My garage looked so clean when they left. The only proof they were here has been the much needed insulation they installed.. 5 months later. I can feel the comfort of the amazing job they preformed in less than 5 hours! He was very customer service driven and took the safest precautions regarding covid during the quote and install process. I am very pleased with the work preformed"

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Yes, including recycled denim and cellulose from natural fibers.

Spray foam insulation can last between 80 and 100 years, depending on the type. Closed-cell spray foam is more durable, while open-cell foam is more susceptible to moisture damage and deterioration. It's important to consult a professional installer to understand which type of foam will be used and its specific longevity. Additionally, be aware that some spray foams can damage plastic piping, so if you have PVC or CPVC pipes, discuss this with your installer.

On average, insulating an attic costs about $2,500, with a typical range of $1,500 to $3,500. The final price often depends on the attic's size, with costs generally falling between $1 to $3 per square foot. For example, insulating a 1,800-square-foot attic would likely cost between $1,800 and $5,400.

If the project involves removing old insulation, this can add an average of $900 to the total cost, bringing a full removal and reinsulation project to around $3,000.

Several factors influence the overall cost:

  • Insulation Type: Prices per square foot vary significantly by material.

  • Reflective: $0.50–$1.50

  • Blown-in: $1–$4

  • Batt: $2–$4

  • Loose-fill: $2–$5

  • Spray foam: $2–$5

  • Structural insulated panels (SIPs): $4–$7

  • Project Complexity: Factors like sealing air leaks, poor attic accessibility, and required inspections can add to the cost.

  • Removal Issues: The discovery of mold, asbestos, or pests during the removal of old insulation can substantially increase the price.

If you feel your energy bills are too high or your HVAC system is working harder than necessary to maintain the correct temperature in your home, you may have an under-insulated home. If you’re unsure, consider having your system’s efficiency assessed by a local independent energy auditor.

Upgrading insulation offers several benefits, including improved energy efficiency, which leads to lower heating and cooling costs. It also enhances indoor comfort by regulating temperature and can provide noise reduction. Additionally, better insulation has a reduced environmental impact and can increase your home's value and overall livability.
