"I contacted AAA to fix a leak I had on my Living room ceiling. The leak is coming from the A/C drain pipe. The course of the work involved removing one or two gypsum panels off the ceiling, fixing the leaky pvc pipe, and reinstalling gypsum.

They sent out one person who took pictures and examined the leak. He stated a quote will be provided to me either later in the day or tomorrow. A couple days later, I received the quote. The pricing was fair and fell within my estimation of the work.

I asked when the work could be done and the company stated they were behind a week. The week cam and went and I didn't hear back. I was sent out of state on business for a month. Once I got back settled in, I emailed the company again for an update. This time, I was told they were swamped with work and could not get to my issue for another month. I am very disappointed in this time-frame, but, to their defense, it has been raining alot and they are also a roofing company. I'm sure with all this rain, they are busy capping leaks.

I just thought that they could have done a little adjusting based on the fact that this quote was made in February and that I had been ready to go since the quote was made."

"I just pay $75 you never know who's going to come out. They do everything electrical. Just about everything is covered except the septic tank. I had an air conditioner replaced. It went great, all I had to do was pay for the freon. He didn't charge e more than what was needed."

Septic Tanks questions, answered by experts

The bacteria already present in your septic system should be enough to break down solids in a properly maintained septic tank. However, if you’re in a DIY mood, you can try adding (well-mashed) rotten tomatoes to help the good bacteria fulfill their duty. Just make sure you give them a couple hours to work after flushing them down.

When considering the price of drilling a well, factor in how much you’ll save in water costs per year. The average family of four uses 100 gallons of water per person per day in the U.S. With a private water well, you can save hundreds each year.

Wells are also environmentally friendly. You don’t need to worry about drinking water treated with chemicals. Talk to at least three well pump contractors in your area. They’ll be able to tell you more about your options, give you different quotes, and discuss the biggest concerns.

The best way to keep a septic tank clean is to hire a local septic tank cleaner to inspect and pump the septic tank every three to five years. Be sure to only flush human waste and toilet paper down the toilet, and don’t pour grease, oil, fats, coffee grounds, or food scraps into your drains.

With proper maintenance, most types of septic systems—including mound, evapotranspiration, and constructed wetland systems—can last up to 40 years. To keep your system running as long as possible, follow basic septic tank upkeep guidelines, like pumping your septic tank every three to five years and only flushing human waste and toilet paper.

Leach lines are commonly made of PVC pipe, and they’re placed into trenches filled with gravel and sand, which help treat the wastewater. The PVC pipes are perforated, or drilled with small holes, so the wastewater can drain out of the pipes and into the surrounding material, which eventually leads to the aquifer.
