After partially finishing the project months behind schedule their are several problems and many unfinished items that they refuse to correct. The swimming pool has large holes in the finish which look horrible. The rear decks are improperly pitched and not flashed properly, creating water intrusion issues along the side of the house. The exterior doors have large gaps from not being set straight. The granite bartop leans down over 3/8" which is very noticeable. We have light fixtures under the front porch that filled with water and shorted out the lights due to improper installation creating a fire hazard. There are several other cosmetic issues that the contractor refuses to acknowledge much less fix. They have failed to return any of my calls or respond to emails for months. This is despite the fact that they signed the punch list and agreed to do the work by the end of October. There's nothing worst than a company who doesn't take pride in their work and finish the job. I would HIGHLY recommend to avoid doing business with this company.

Keys Contracting Services have to date gone above and beyond (Especially Alecheia) in making this process a pleasant experience. We are building a new home and we are 1800 miles away so having the peace of mind that Alecheia has provided us is priceless. We have a long way to go in the process but so far it is the contractor I would recommend to anyone and everyone.

Keys was the lowest bidder who agreed to do the job (another contractor got spooked about the scale of the job and backed out after bidding). I should preface this by saying that its a nightmare getting anything done in the Keys and the permitting process is horrendous. We had a lot of difficultly with our engineer who didn't get along with the contractor (these squabbles were ridiculous, it was like refereeing kindergarten at one point) in the end we sided with the contractor mostly because my husband supervised the job and was satisfied with various compromises made vis a vis the original specs for raising the house. Keys did get the job done and for the price they bid (with a few add on's that we negotiated). Our biggest complaint was the skill level of the foreman and crew in charge of our work-site, if my husband had not been here things could have gone badly. Keys raised the house themselves instead of using a Miami specialty contractor which saved us at least 10K but was a nerve-wracking experience as the crew was learning on the job. The window and door installation was ok, the trim work was acceptable but some of the windows don't stay up which makes me think they were not installed perfectly tightly. I did complain about this but it wasn't really fixed though Keys did send someone out. There were numerous little annoyances like this. The stairs are hideous but that's probably our fault, we should have had an architect do them as computer drawn engineered drawings are about what you'd expect aesthetically. On the plus side, the owner of the company, Chris, is a good guy, reasonable and responsive to our concerns. He took care of a some important misc. problems, replacing the septic lid etc, at a reasonable cost. One of the sub-contractors was sub-standard, but Chris negotiated a fair settlement on the work we were unhappy with. My impression is that major projects in the Keys don't necessarily go any better than ours did. I'm grateful that Keys took the job and basically saved our little conch cottage by raising it and putting it on new pilings (when the storm comes the pilings are so over-engineered they will likely be the only thing to survive, I'll let you know.) Overall, this probably qualifies as a good experience, at least in the Keys. I'm honestly not sure if we would hire them again, it would depend on the job. However, I would have a beer with Chris and Alberto any day... so that says something.

The project was simple. An estimator came to property and made estimate to complete job. The cost estimate was accepted and the job was completed on a timely basis. at quoted price.
