They were on time.  Installed the system in record time and cleaned up before they left.  Brian & Will were great and I would definitely use the company again.

"I called Fist Coast Climate Control to come out and discuss replacing my old heat pump. Ed came and we talked about an hour going over the details of replacing my unit. Ed did not rush through the discussion and answered my many questions. Ed promptly sent an email showing the prices for several units. I went with a high efficiency 18 SEER Inverter and the crew that came to install were very professional. The follow up after the sale and install is a bonus. I have already recommended First Coast Climate Control to a co-worker."

"My experience with Waychoff's Air Condition has exceeded all expectations. The staff were all top notch professionals and did excellent work. Tracy Poor provided clear, relevant information so that I understood the options available and there was no pressure at any point in the process. The installers, Omar and Bubby, were competent, experienced and personable. To my surprise, there was even a post-installation inspection to ensure the work was done up to company standards, answer any questions and ensure the customer was satisfied. I was genuinely impressed with this experience and would definitely recommend Waychoff's."

"Working with Bill Fenwick Plumbing was one of the best contractor experience I have ever had. I called many plumbing companies to install a new gas line connecting a propane tank to a cooktop in a house that did not previously have gas of any kind. They were one of the few that I found that would provide such services. I had one other company come out to bid the project and they were extremely negative and indicated that it couldn't be done without ripping out walls. Bill Fenwick Plumbing did the job and only took out a 6" x 8" hole in the sheet rock, which was to be expected given that a valve needed to be plumbed to the cooktop. They ran the gas line through the attic (which was a nasty job!) and down through the walls. The technicians who performed the work were very professional and took care to make sure they were clean in the process. They were very efficient as well. The staff that organized service was SO friendly and when I ran into problems with the propane provider, they immediately intervened and straightened things out. The whole process was seamless. I HIGHLY recommend them for any plumbing issues you may have. They will be my "go to" business for any future plumbing needs."

"The repairs required two visits, both were on Saturday which worked great for us.  The first visit they diagnosed the problem and identified the parts that needed to be ordered.  The second visit they brought the parts and installed them.
Between the two visits they spent nearly 6 hours working, 2 hours of that time was them figuring out the a-typical refrigerator and pulling the beast out of the cabinets (built-in refrigerator).   The parts cost just over $300, the rest was labor which equates to about $100/hr which I find to be quite expensive.
Other than the cost and time taken, they were top notch.

"Strickland's did a great job. On time, gave an estimate calculated to the penny. Crew was professional and really knew their job. This company had installed my prior unit over 15 years ago, so it was time for a more efficient unit. My electric bill reflects the change! Great job. Highly recommend this company.

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

Boilers provide even heating, energy efficiency, and a quiet operation compared to forced air systems.

An HVAC system typically lasts between 10 and 30 years, with an average lifespan of 15 to 25 years. The longevity of the system is influenced by factors such as the quality of the unit, usage frequency, local climate, and how well it is maintained. Regular maintenance, including cleaning, filter replacements, and professional inspections, can help maximize its lifespan. Different components within the system have varying life expectancies. For example:

  • Furnaces: 15 to 30 years

  • Boilers: 20 to 35 years

  • Air Conditioners (AC units): 12 to 20 years

  • Heat Pumps: 10 to 20 years

  • Ductless Mini-Splits: 10 to 30 years

Boilers are equipped with multiple safety features to ensure safe operation. These include pressure relief valves to prevent overpressure, temperature high-limit switches to avoid overheating, and flame failure safety devices in gas boilers to cut off the gas supply if the flame goes out unexpectedly. Low water cutoffs prevent operation with insufficient water levels, and pressure gauges help monitor pressure levels. Ventilation and flue systems prevent the buildup of harmful gasses. Boilers often feature error code systems for automatic shutdown during malfunctions and gas leak detection for safety. Regular maintenance is crucial to ensure these safety features function correctly.

Generally, an oil furnace is considered safer than a gas furnace for several reasons. While both types of furnaces can produce carbon monoxide, a leak in an oil furnace is easier to detect due to the smell. Oil furnaces also don't connect to a gas pipeline, which reduces the chance of a fuel leak. Most importantly, heating oil is not combustible, whereas natural gas is highly flammable. This means there is a much lower risk of combustion or explosion with an oil furnace. However, an oil furnace can still pose a fire hazard if it tips over.

An expansion tank must always be installed on the supply side, which is the side where the boiler sends water out to heat the systems. That placement allows the water to push against the air and condense properly as it is heated, then circulated through the system. Professional installers can recommend the best place on the supply side for an expansion tank.
