"Tyler was so efficient, professional, helpful, and pleasant. What we had feared would prove to be a struggle was addressed quickly, a diagnosis was proposed, we scooted out and bought the relevant part, and Tyler was back in a jiffy to install and test it. It's been an hour since he left, and we're still smiling. Thanks for a great job."

"Joe was very Professional. Completed the work and had me test to make sure it was satisfactory. Before doing any work he explained the different options and prices. Explained the difference between the different garbage disposals, and faucet. Gave me a quote on water treatment in case I wanted to do that in near future. I would recommend this company to others."

"The installers were amazing! Nico and Clay were professional, friendly and fast. They answered all of our questions, made sure that the shower accessories were placed according to our needs, and explained the specifics of the door position, and adjustments we could make to the shower head and soap dish. We could not have been more pleased with their quality of work. Thank you Nico and Clay!"

"Martin's Home Improvement (MHI) did an excellent job. This was the third and final bathroom that we updated after buying a home in North Wilmington. The first two we had done by another contractor who did a great job, but was too slow with some minor problems we found later with electrical work. We decided that our final bathroom needed to be done in two weeks (not two-three months!) and at a good price. I reached out to four contractors and Martin's Home Improvement met our requirements. The project was completed in about two weeks - this was a complete job from gutting the existing hall bathroom to studs and replacing floor, walls, tub, sink, toilet, shower, tiles, mirror, lighting, and fan. They showed up everyday on time. The workers were very professional and skillful. I was home most of the time while they were working and so saw how careful they were to do the job right. Communication was great. Marcin texted back in a timely manner and dropped by the project often to supervise his team. I could tell they knew what they were doing and Marcin himself told me that he does 25-40 bathroom jobs a year. I bought the tile, vanity, sink, toilet, tub, faucets, fan, and mirror and MHI provided building supplies and paint. The price quote from MHI was for labor and building supplies. I would definitely use Martin Home Improvement again and will highly recommend him to others. MHI is dependable, fair, efficient, and the quality of work is excellent."

"Flate was great. He walked me through troubleshooting and testing which was great. The only problem was that my repair was more complicated than I wanted to take on so I decided to call in a professional to complete the repair. No fault of the technician. I would use them again for a future repair."

"Joe came out and gave us a quote, while Mike and Brandon did the work. The bathroom turned out absolutely amazing and despite the hiccups along the way they still completed the project on time."

Percolation Tests questions, answered by experts

It can be safe to live in a house with asbestos as long as the asbestos-containing materials are intact, in good condition, and not disturbed. Asbestos becomes dangerous only when its fibers are released into the air, which happens if the material is damaged, crumbling, or disturbed during renovation work. If you suspect asbestos is present, do not disturb it. Instead of removal, materials in good condition can sometimes be encapsulated. It is recommended to have regular professional inspections to monitor the condition of the asbestos and prevent health risks from potential exposure.

While a professional can always help, there are some common plumbing culprits you can check yourself to see if you can find the sewer gas smell. For example, you should check your water traps, sometimes called P-traps and S-traps, which are located under sink, shower, and laundry drains. The wax ring beneath the base of your toilet, which creates a watertight seal with the plumbing, could also have gone bad.

Epoxying over asbestos tiles is generally considered a safe option when done correctly. Epoxy acts as a sealant, encapsulating the asbestos tiles and preventing the release of asbestos fibers into the air. The key is ensuring that the asbestos tiles are in good condition, firmly adhered to the substrate, and not damaged or deteriorating. This method is only appropriate for tiles that are undamaged and securely in place. If the asbestos tiles are already loose, damaged, or deteriorating, encapsulating them with epoxy may not be a sufficient solution, as it might not address the potential for ongoing asbestos exposure.

If your home was built before 1989 and still has original vinyl, there’s a high probability of asbestos mixed into the old flooring, which can harm you and your family if it’s disturbed from removal. If you suspect that you have asbestos, you’ll want to call in an asbestos removal expert to evaluate the situation.

In the 1980s, the use of asbestos in house siding materials underwent a significant decline, ultimately being phased out by the mid-1980s to early 1990s. This change was largely due to a growing awareness of the severe health risks associated with asbestos exposure, particularly its link to lung diseases and cancers. With increased public concern and regulatory agency involvement, building codes and regulations were updated to restrict the use of asbestos in construction materials.
