"The knob for my hose would not turn off the water for some time and I kept deprioritizing it, until one morning, water was spraying from before my hose (so aggressively) that we thought it was raining. We spent a day turning the water main on and off before I reached out to plumbing contractors on Angi for help to get this under control. The week of Thanksgiving seemed like a long shot, but whenever somebody could make it out. Within two minutes of submitting my request, I received a phone call from Spiro's and was informed that they could be out the same day in the evening. He arrived when he said he would and was entirely prepared for the issue I reported - and then some, because the inside nozzle was leaking and in need of replacement as well. About an hour later, the inside and outside units were both replaced. He took the time to explain what he was doing every step of the way, why he was doing it, why it was needed, and still got work completed in about an hour."

"Quick, honest, knowledgeable and efficient. I would strongly recommend this company to fix any plumbing issue. I’ve hired 2x’s and James came to help is a very stressful water leak situation. James actually helped clean up a flood that happened in my basement and gave me instructions on how not to get mold. I called him very late ay night and he came to help me and my son. I’m grateful for his professionalism and honesty in business. These days you cannot trust many people, but I trust him. If I have an issues, this is the company I will use for all my plumbing needs."

"My experience with Ray Page Plumbing was all around very good. Luke, the Ray Page Plumbing technician, was great! He was professional, courteous, and most of all thorough and resourceful in identifying an issue that didn't present itself immediately. Luke listened attentively to all the symptoms I relayed that our basement level mascerator pump and plumbing system was exhibiting. He asked good questions to get as much information as he could before getting to work. He ran the system multiple times, as it wasn't presenting the problem. He did clear a related issue but went the extra mile and continued to investigate. It was then he detected the problem we were experiencing and fully assessed the source of the malfunction. Because of this thoroughness and diligence I believe he avoided having to come back out a second time to fix the larger problem (and we avoided having to go another week or two without the use of our bathroom!) He was clean and knowledgable in his work. He didn't have the part but his team got it out to him quickly. He got to work and fixed it timely. The office staff who answered the phone and scheduled the appointment were also easy going, thorough and efficient to work with. I couldn't be more pleased. Thanks for a job well done Ray Page Plumbing!"

"My well pump gave out and I was without water (and a little bit frantic). They came out the same day and worked until the new pump was installed, even as it got dark, so I would have water. He was patient in explaining what needed to done and gave me a great price. His work ethic is outstanding and I would highly recommend him!"

"I had a very positive experience with Matt Gove and company when they remodeled my bathroom a few months ago. The experience made me realize the value in trust. I am not a handy person, the original quote went up in price because I opted to buy equipment and furnishings that required extra labor/parts. Not to mention unforeseen wood damage underneath the floor tile that was discovered upon demolition. Although no one likes to spend more money than they originally intended, Matt, Mike and Jamie explained to me in detail and with patience what some of the issues were and provided options that would help mitigate some of the extra cost. It’s kind of hard to explain, but their input and tone conveyed sincerity and concern for the best outcome of the project. I don’t think you can really ask for more than that. All that aside, I am thrilled with how the project turned out. I think it looks awesome! Matt addressed all my concerns and now I am very proud of my little bathroom."

Percolation Tests questions, answered by experts

Epoxying over asbestos tiles is generally considered a safe option when done correctly. Epoxy acts as a sealant, encapsulating the asbestos tiles and preventing the release of asbestos fibers into the air. The key is ensuring that the asbestos tiles are in good condition, firmly adhered to the substrate, and not damaged or deteriorating. This method is only appropriate for tiles that are undamaged and securely in place. If the asbestos tiles are already loose, damaged, or deteriorating, encapsulating them with epoxy may not be a sufficient solution, as it might not address the potential for ongoing asbestos exposure.

No, an N95 mask will not protect against asbestos and many other hazardous materials, such as carbon monoxide, gas, chemical vapors, and other gases. You will need a respirator specifically designed to protect against asbestos. However, if you suspect asbestos is present in your home, hire an asbestos abatement professional immediately and avoid the area until they arrive for the inspection.

While a professional can always help, there are some common plumbing culprits you can check yourself to see if you can find the sewer gas smell. For example, you should check your water traps, sometimes called P-traps and S-traps, which are located under sink, shower, and laundry drains. The wax ring beneath the base of your toilet, which creates a watertight seal with the plumbing, could also have gone bad.

Asbestos-containing materials are not easily affected by water and do not disintegrate or dissolve when exposed to it. However, porous materials can deteriorate due to water exposure, leading to the release of asbestos fibers into the air. The settling of asbestos fibers can also occur as water makes them heavy, which reduces the risk of airborne exposure, though future disturbance of the materials could cause risk. Wetting asbestos-containing materials does not constitute safe removal, and the proper handling and disposal of asbestos materials should be left to professionals.

Federal law doesn’t require homeowners to disclose the presence of asbestos in their home, but some states and local municipalities may require it. That is why it’s important to test an older home for asbestos and other health hazards before moving forward with a sale.
